The farmhouse is immersed in the San Gimignano countryside, amidst hills covered with olive trees and vineyards, between the Val d’Elsa and Chianti. From its ideal position it is possible to quickly reach the most beautiful, historical and artistic towns of Tuscany, destinations you simply have to visit during your holiday. Certaldo Alto (distance: 6 km): it still has a large part of its original medieval walls and three gateways intact, Porta Alberti, Porta al Sole and Porta al Rivellino; San Gimignano (distance: 8 km): famous for Vernaccia wine and her two towers, San Gimignano rises from the hills above the Val d’Elsa. The village centre is an authentic jewel of the area’s artistic heritage, where the charm of an past era is perfectly preserved; Florence (distance: 55 km): it is the custodian of an outstanding artistic heritage, which is the result of the city’s centuries-old civilization. Large works are housed in the city’s numerous museums; Siena (distance: 40 km): it is a city of immense cultural and artistic importance, and is home to numerous prestigious works of art. It is the city of the Palio, the city’s most famous and exciting sporting event; Volterra, Lucca, Pisa, Arezzo. Moreover: Monteriggioni castle, Le Crete Senesi, San Vivaldo - Montaione, Val d’Orcia. Guests can also take part in tours to discover Tuscany’s environmental and landscape heritage; in addition to the closest towns of San Gimignano and Certaldo, the countryside of the Val d’Elsa, with its vineyards and olive groves, and the Val d’Era, rich with clay hills, cliffs and saltpans are also well worth visiting, not to mention the beautiful churches, monasteries and medieval towers and walls, which are not to be missed. 

Horse riding and cycling trips; Tasting sessions: the estate produces wine and oil and can organise tasting sessions and tours of winery, walks through vineyards (the grape harvest takes place in September/October) and offer the possibility to pick fresh vegetables in the vegetable garden. Homemade bread and pizza: next to the apartments there’s an old but fully working wood-fuelled oven which the owners will be delighted to use for special evenings in your company. Possibility to rent bicycles, cars and vans for mini tours. Trekking along the Via Francigena: Podere Magione was one of the post houses which offered hospitality to pilgrims travelling along the Via Francigena.
