The agriturismo
In the spectacular setting of the Crete Senesi, family hospitality on this organic farm in the peace and quiet of the valley that runs between the Ombrone and the Valdichiana. Amidst oaks and signs of the ancient Etruscan and Roman past, an uncontaminated countryside, perfect for the spirit’s wellbeing and for resting.
The accommodation
Documents attest to the existence of this facility since the late 14th century: guests are accommodated in rooms with bathroom and apartments with independent heating, colour TV and simple but well-kept decor. The apartments have a cooktop and oven, refrigerator and full set of dishes.
The whole facility is surrounded by green, and the pool is set up with sun umbrellas and deckchairs as well as a play area for children. The structure also has a pergola with a barbecue for summer grills, and a multipurpose room for courses and conferences. The farm sells all organic products, including extra-virgin olive oil, pasta and sauces, all obtained using farming methods that exalt the importance of native plants and crops.
Solar panels cover part of the facility’s energy consumption.
Activities and surrounding
The products served at the buffet breakfast are all organically produced on the farm. Guests can relax in the swimming pool surrounded by the green, and just 3 km away they can arrive at the thermal spa of San Giovanni and the Antica Querciolaia thermal spa, with special deals for guests.
There are lots of trails nearby for hiking, trekking and biking. Not far away, there is also a horse-riding centre for trail rides in the Crete zone that can also be seen from on high, in a hot-air balloon or travelling on the Treno Natura, which travels right through the middle.
