The agriturismo
Located in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Siena, with an enchanting view of the towers in San Gimignano, the agriturismo is suitable for a relaxing holiday, immersed in nature but not far from the most famous cities of art in the world. Guests are welcomed in an old convent dating back to 1000, recently renovated to create welcoming, comfortable apartments.
The accommodation
The distinguishing feature of the accommodation is its setting: a breathtaking view dominated by the hill marked by the towers in San Gimignano. Each apartment has a wall made entirely of glass, so guests can enjoy this spectacle from the comfort of their sofa, sipping a glass of fine Chianti.
Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining room, in front of the blazing fire during the winter and outdoors, under the starry sky, in the summer. Fruits and vegetables are available to guests, who can also pick seasonal produce directly in the vegetable garden.
Each apartment is equipped with all comforts to guarantee a pleasant stay, heated during the winter and furnished in traditional Tuscan style. The small size of the building and the fact that the agriturismo is family-run make the stay peaceful and private. Those who wish to do so can discover rural life inTuscany, in direct contact with the family running the farm.
The song of the crickets and the starry sky are companions for night time walks that can be taken around the farmhouse. Children will find playmates in the agriturismo's dog, Ernesto, and cat, Romeo.
Activities and surrounding
Each apartment has a private outdoor area, furnished for relaxing and outdoor dining. There is also a barbecue available for those who love to cook. The agriturismo is an excellent starting point for day trips to the most famous cities of art in Tuscany, such as Florence (which can be reached in under an hour by car and conveniently by bus), Siena and Volterra (20 minutes away by car), San Gimignano (only 7 km away). Lovers of good wine can follow the Chianti trail and there are also spas to be visited.
Equally interesting are Casole d'Elsa, Radicondoli, Castellina in Chianti, Montalcino, Pienza and the Crete Senesi. For nature lovers, the blue of the sky, the yellow of the sunflowers and the green of the woods are the colours that provide a backdrop for walks around the farmhouse, rediscovering the Via Francigena or old medieval buildings. For cycling enthusiasts, bike hire and guides are available and, not far from the agriturismo, there are golf courses, tennis courts, a riding school and a public swimming pool.
