The agriturismo
An agriturismo in the town of Gualdo Tadino, on the border between Umbria and Marche, on the SS3 Flaminia road which links Ancona to Rome.
Nestled in green hills, just a few km from small towns home to carefully preserved historic and artistic heritage, you'll find this Domus Laetitiae, a place of joy and peace. The ancient chapel dating back to 1163, the slowly flowing Rio Rasina stream, and the stables, which today have become a place for coming together and sharing, give character to this complex, evoking all the ambience of rural life.
As well as tasting homemade oil and jams, guests can purchase produce from the farm itself and other typical local delicacies. All guests receive a welcome basket on arrival, containing a selection of delicious breakfast ingredients.
The accommodation
The farm has a long family history: it was purchased in the early 60's, along with fields, forests, olive groves, and thanks to a strong entrepreneurial spirit and starting from a small number of cows, this family has managed to realize his dream.
Santa Croce, called "Vera Cruz", has always been the place to organize family celebrations, in a jovial yet intimate atmosphere. It has always been inhabited by many collaborators, all animated by the love for the land and the countryside.
Inside the house there is also a consecrated church where already in the thirteenth century was celebrated the feast of the Holy Cross on May 3. At the moment, this anniversary is brought forward to the first of May to give more tourists the opportunity to take advantage of this holiday to participate. At the end of the holy mass, the parish priest blesses the crosses made of bamboo canes, lily leaves, olive palm and a small piece of candle and then they are put by those who want them in their own garden as a sign of blessing.
The rural house consists of four apartments of various sizes, which can accommodate from two to six people: here the modern comforts blend with the sweetness and warmth of hospitality of the past.
The living room "La stalla", of 300 square meters with use of kitchen, fireplace and external brazier, is used as a lounge to organize parties and dinners for groups, can accommodate up to 150 people. The kitchen can accommodate up to 20/22 people.
The farm has a breakfast room with use of kitchen, large garden with gazebo, playground, picnic area, barbecue, mountain biking, hiking and guided tours, trekking, horse box and private parking.
Dogs area of 700 square meters shaded and with fresh water, possibility of private outdoor fence, possibility of educator and 6-legged walks, pet-friendly restaurants and city museum route (6) pet friendly
For mountain bikers: routes, storage, washing equipment and small maintenance, breakfast and meals suitable for bikers directly in the apartment.
Sale of oil and organic products such as chickpeas, spelt and related flours and seasonal fruits.
At Easter, the owner prepared a typical breakfast, to celebrate with its guests.
The owners' love for what they do and live is all they want to convey to their guests, in the knowledge that they can offer moments and experiences to remember.
Activities and surrounding
The agriturismo works in partnership with restaurants, pizzerias and other local businesses, where guests can also order lunches and dinners of typical local dishes for delivery to the agriturismo (booking required) at no extra cost (service offered by “La Locandiera”).
You can enjoy tours to discover how ceramic art is produced at Spigarelli Ceramiche, a company that for years has produced pottery in wonderful shapes with the most beautiful embellishments. You can also enjoy an introduction to ceramics class too (take home what you make, minimum 4 participants).
