Le Torri di Bagnara

Le Torri di Bagnara is made of 2 stylish Medieval Historic Residences - restored to luxury villas - set in the centre of a magnificent 1500 acres estate actually including a collection of castles and woodland, complete with lakes and a natural reserve.

The main house is “PIEVE SAN QUIRICO” a stylish 11th century stone Abbey and historic complex encircling a courtyard, beautifully renovated in 2005 to create a private house. It has been restored to the highest standard of renovation and design to create a luxury villa with 7 rooms and 9 bathrooms (15 beds), with total privacy and breathtaking views. It is extraordinarily equipped and beautifully interior designed with everything from high speed wireless internet, to whirlpool bathtubs, air conditioning, panoramic dining veranda, espresso coffee machine, ice maker and billiard.

Four apartments set in a 11th century Tower just up the hill are available for larger groups on request.

The Abbey is composed of a beautiful church with frescoes inside - still consecrated and devoted to Saint Joseph, octagonal bell tower, sacristy and parish house. In the middle of the complex is a charming large stone courtyard, with an ancient well, surrounded by lemon trees. The entire framework is original; in fact it has not undergone works of enlargement or alteration recently. The last intervention of adjustment dates back to XVIII century. The current restoration works have been realized according to the bonds and indication of the Umbrian Monuments and Fine Arts Office, and with the employment of ancient material and traditional working technique. Being very ancient, it appears in all the geographic maps of Umbria. It was the summer residence of Pope Leo the 13th around 1880; he had been Bishop of Perugia for 30 years, so he knew well Pieve San Quirico. The Church has been re-built during the XVII century, and it is defined by the high vaulted ceiling, the baptismal font and the frescoed woody landing, where was the pipe organ; the church can seat 70 and could a good choice for celebrations, social gatherings and events.

The Abbey meets the highest international standards in elegant antique furnishings, privacy, exclusivity and size. The layout offers most refined accommodation for two and a suite for three, a large panoramic terrace, with total privacy and breathtaking views. The comfortable living room with fireplace is packed with books and includes a card table; there are two guest bathrooms, a medieval tavern with billiard, a lounge bar and a large beautiful panoramic dining jasmine covered veranda. French windows enhance the flow of light. Excellent for long-term rental from Spring to Fall with air conditioning in all bedrooms, heating and two fireplaces. Unlimited use of high-speed wireless internet. The Abbey also features fine bed and household linen, fluffy towels including swim towels, fine cutlery, crockery and kitchenware. Access to the 1.500 acres Bagnara Estate walking and biking trails, picnic areas, woods for berry-picking, and farm, including use of mountain bikes available. Outside you find a medieval large courtyard surrounded by lemon trees perfect for candlelight dinner, infinite very private panoramic overflow salt water pool with fantastic hillside views that catches the rays from dawn to dusk , set in the centre of a 5.000 sqm manicured gardens designed by the famous Tuscan landscape designer Alberto Margheriti, with olive trees, a botanical garden with aromatic plants, a kitchen garden, pool wooden gazebo, several outdoor sitting and dining areas, fully equipped stone barbecue, table tennis and children’s wooden playground. There is outside lightning with ancient streetlamps lined with forged iron, and a large parking area. There are sweeping views of the Tiber valley, surrounding hills, forests, the Bagnara Castle and Estate.

Four apartments set in the  "Bagnara Tower", a 11th century Tower, just up the hill are available for larger groups on request. They may only be rented in addition to the whole Abbey. Apartments may be rented one by one or altogether.

The "Bagnara Tower" (11th century), is a prime example of a Medieval Historical Residence; leading architects have put together  4 independent charming Apartments - one sleeps 2, two sleeps 4, one sleeps 5  - plus there is a separate single room with bathroom. At the ground floor of the Tower there is a common living room with a large dining table that becomes a useful dining room should the Tower be rented by a large group of people. For outdoor relaxation, the Tower provides a splendid panoramic terrace equipped with lounging furniture, and a 1000 sqm terraced garden, with roses, fig trees, olive trees and an ancient huge laurel. There is a children's playground, a fully equipped BBQ area, covered car park, and outer lighting.

All Apartments have been beautifully restored and feature all modern comforts. They differ in size but all of them are very elegant and enjoy sweeping views of the Umbrian countryside.

Guests may purchase our Farms’ produce at our offices: extra virgin olive oil, honey, the red and white doc wines from our Tuscan vineyards. Fresh vegetables and the “Chianina” cattle meat from our breeding may also be available seasonally.
