Between Todi and Perugia, in the keep of a medieval castle from the 1200s, five apartments where guests can taste the farm's organically produced specialties, take bike rides and hike in the surrounding woods.

Guests can enjoy the swimming pool (16.5 x 5.5mt ) inside an Italian-style roof garden, from which there is a unique view of the Umbrian hills. Hiking and ecological walks are organized

Safe reception

- We provide guests with hand sanitizing gel stations in common areas and inside the apartments.

- In common areas, items that come into repeated contact with guests (door handles, push buttons...) are cleaned and sanitized.

- Accommodations, with their keys, are sanitized, as well as cleaned, before welcoming a new guest.

- Cleaners are provided with personal protective equipment (disposable gloves, mask) as needed.

- Ability to send data for check-in via email and notification of any billing needs for check-out the previous day to avoid waiting.

The farmhouse was built inside the keep of a medieval castle set in a 13th-century hamlet, at the center of an organic farm of more than 500 hectares. The ancient rooms have been restored respecting the original appearance and materials, from the exposed local stone structure, wood-beamed ceilings and terracotta floors to the ancient loopholes that open onto views as far as the eye can see.

The 5 apartments, finely furnished and equipped with every comfort, maintain unchanged the spaces, finishes and structural features of the medieval building.

Apartment 'Rina' (110 sqm - sleeps 5): Ground floor consists of entrance living room with sofa bed, kitchen, single bedroom, bathroom with shower; upper floor consists of 1 double bedroom with 1 en suite bathroom with bathtub, 1 double bedroom with 1 en suite bathroom with shower, 1 reading corner with fireplace. Apartment 'Mimma' (85 sqm - sleeps 4): Ground floor consists of entrance living room with fireplace and sofa bed, kitchenette; upper floor consists of 1 double bedroom with 1 en suite bathroom with bathtub, 1 bedroom with twin beds, 1 bathroom with shower. Garden attached to the house with entrance from outside.

Apartment 'Gianna' (53 sq m - sleeps 2 1): Ground floor consists of entrance hall living room with fireplace and sofa bed, kitchenette; upper floor consists of 1 bedroom with double bed, 1 bathroom with shower. Garden attached to the house with entrance from outside.

Apartment 'Mario' (50 sq m - sleeps 2 1): Ground floor consists of entrance hall, living room with fireplace and sofa bed, kitchen; upper floor consists of 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom with tub.

Apartment 'Grancio' (55 sq m - sleeps 2 1): The ground floor consists of entrance hall living room with fireplace and sofa bed, 1 double bedroom and 1 bathroom with bathtub; the upper floor consists of a kitchen, dining area with view of pool. It has a private equipped terrace.

There is an Italian-style roof garden where you can stop, under the shade of ancient trees, and enjoy an aperitif or herbal tea. Large shady areas equipped with sofas, sunbeds, tables and umbrellas to enjoy the calm, peace-filled atmosphere and boundless views of the valley hills.

Opportunity to have a picnic, with a blanket, a basket with healthy and tasty products, a forest or a meadow. After a walk, a hike or simply for a moment of rest, guests will choose the location for their picnic within the estate: the woods or the bank of a pond, a meadow or the olive grove.

A synergistic vegetable garden was born at Aquilone Farm three years ago, and with each passing year it gives more and more excitement and satisfaction. It is a special type of cultivation that refers to synergistic agriculture, or culture capable of self-regeneration in eternity. Its purpose is to take advantage of the natural dynamics of the soil, spontaneously maintaining its fertility, densely sowing in the soil plants that differ in their characteristics and seasonality, and using mulching, that is, "natural" soil protection (dry leaves, reeds, straw).

Possible excursions to manors in the area of Todi, Orvieto, Perugia, included in a radius of about 25km. Mountain bikes are available to guests for nature trails in the Fersinone Valley.

In addition, guests will be able to taste the products of the farm, which practices exclusively organic farming: Chianina meat, extra virgin olive oil, artisanal pasta, legumes and cereals. Tasting oil, legumes, cereals and Chianina meat. It will begin with an oil tasting, introduced by an explanation of organoleptic characteristics, cultivars, production processes and preservation techniques. The agriturismo offers cooking classes in a family atmosphere, allowing you to experience a fascinating journey through Umbrian flavors. Umbrian cuisine and food and wine is the result of the influences of two ancient civilizations, Etruscan and Roman, which over the centuries have made it simple and wholesome, but at the same time rich and appetizing. In fact, even today there is extensive use of legumes and cereals, especially wheat and spelt, which form the basis of many ancient recipes.

1. Secrets of Umbrian cuisine: The course consists of a theoretical and practical tour of traditional Umbrian cuisine, discovering the secrets and peculiarities of local dishes. You will be able to learn how to make different recipes such as: torta al testo, umbricelli (typical Umbrian handmade pasta), bread (knowing the different uses and types of flour milling).
