Podere Costa Romana
Narni (Terni)
- Traveller rating:
The antique residence is in the Umbrian countryside along the hillside on the slopes of the Amerino Navarese-ridge, protected from the north winds, dominant on the hills that go down towards the Via Consolare Flaminia that links Rome to the antique Nequinium (today's Narni) and that allows to reach Rome in less than an hour. The 19th century building, built on antique medioeval preexistences, as testified by the beautiful squared rocks re-used in the masonry, has its origin for a large farmer-family in service of the lands of the Counts Mancinelli Scotti of S. Vito whose summer residence, called Palazzone ('big palace' - 18th century) stands out imponently on the nearby hill. Today the house, recovered in its antique soul, furnished with antique furniture, has returned to life.
