The agriturismo
Tenuta di Corbara, ancient property of the Counts Montemarte, is an elegant complex of farm buildings converted into hotel accomodation. Located in the heart of Umbria region , it is situated a few kilometres from Todi, Orvieto, Assisi and Spoleto and just 1 hour from Rome.The area is of about 1200 acres and the central core is the farm house Il Caio where is located the wide and elegant restaurant.
Immersed in centuries old vegetation and surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, Tenuta di Corbara is the ideal destination for a holyday dedicated to relaxation, art and culinary appreciation: Its warm atmosphere, its elegant, welcoming rooms, the authentic flavour of its cuisine and the breathtaking beauty of the landscape make it an extraordinary place for anyone wishing to get away from the city and rediscover their well being in contact with nature's colours and scents.
During their stay guests can take part in the various activities offered by the Tenuta such as mountain bike rides, trekking, horse riding excursions, unforgettable strolls around the nearby cities of art Orvieto, Todi, Civita di Bagnoregio, pottery and cookery courses, visits to wine producers and to the small biopark.
The accommodation
The accomodation facilities are made up of 6 stone farmhouses, some of them with swimming pools, which enjoy an unforgettable view that takes a crag atop which sits Orvieto, the Cimini mountains and Mount Cetona.
The rooms and apartments are furnished with warm, elegant details... ceramic and parquet floors, wooden furniture and antique objects. Thanks to expert restoration the rooms blend the original spirit of Umbria in a refined, sober manner, to offer its guests a stay in an intimate, redolent setting. Unmistakable flavours and smells blend with attentive service and an elegantly country style setting.
Il Caio Restaurant is all this, where it is possible to taste the authentic cuisine of Umbria or to purchase olive oil, honey and wine produced with love and passion on the Tenuta's farm. Activities and surrounding
Tenuta di Corbara can be considered as an ideal starting point for a holiday full of nature, art, wine and food tasting.
For nature lovers it is possible to visit the Tiber River Park and the Oasis of Alviano (from October to May) a bird sanctuary with protected wildlife.
All around big oak and holm oak wood and a gorgeous landscape that become more fascinating due to the wonderful lake established by Corbara’s dam.
