Spring has finally sprung: the temperatures are milder, days are longer and we all feel like getting out into the fresh air!

An agriturismo is the perfect place to get close to nature. Here are 10 suggestions of springtime activities you can experience at farmhouses in Italy.

1- Focus on wellbeing with yoga and massage

The Amici del Colle agriturismo in Buggiano (Pistoia) boasts a rejuvenating holistic center where guests can book massages, shiatsu treatments, yoga lessons and meditation sessions… fantastico!

2- Cycle through orchards in blossom

At Il Querciolo agriturismo in Grosseto, guests can go on a bicycle ride along the nearby cycle path, which passes through orchards of plum and cherry trees in full blossom.

3- Enjoy the first meals outdoors

Dining “al fresco” is always special, especially at an agriturismo with its magical atmosphere and wholesome traditional food. Here we’re at Niccolai - Palagetto di Sotto agriturismo in San Gimignano (Siena).

4- Take a watercolours course

At La Tilia in Lequio Tanaro (Cuneo), guests can learn watercolour techniques on Saturdays in spring under the guidance of an art teacher.

5- Go pony trekking

Agriturismi with riding stables abound in Italy (search here), offering visitors a truly memorable experience in the great outdoors. Agriturismo Val di Noto in Avola (Siracusa) organises pony trekking and horseback riding excursions through the beautiful Sicilian countryside.

6- Go orienteering

The owners of Sulla Via del Sale agriturismo in Brallo di Pregola (Pavia) organize fun activities for kids of all ages. One of our favorites is orienteering, where children can learn to read a map and use a compass to find their way.

7- Enjoy a sundowner to live music

The all-organic agriturismo Sant’Egle in Sorano (Grosseto) hosts tasty sundowners in spring and summer accompanied by live music. Wouldn’t you love to go?

8- Take a photography course

How many times have you wished you could capture a breathtaking landscape in a photograph? At agriturismo Ampugnano in Gubbio (Perugia), you can do just that, thanks to the regular photography courses organized onsite!

9- Go foraging for wild asparagus

At the Landhaus agriturismo in Terlano (Bolzano), guests can take part in a unique activity in the quiet countryside: asparagus foraging! Guided walks in search of the wild spring ingredient are organized every spring.

10- Play golf

How could we not mention golf?

The San Vigilio Chervo Golf Hotel & Spa offers its guests a 27-hole course as well as 9-holes especially designed for beginners or for expert golfers to improve their short game.
