The agriturismo

In the Ostuni hills, on a 100 hectare estate in the Itria Valley, the agriturismo is home to an old farmhouse from the 1600s with typical "trulli" dwellings, a swimming pool and a consecrated chapel, surrounded by dense woodland.

The farm, which takes its name from the street of the same name, rears Podolica cattle, pigs, Murgese horses, Martina Franca donkeys and barnyard animals. Farm produce, such as pork/beef, typical cheeses (Caciocavallo, Cacioricotta, Ricotta Forte and more), Cabernet and Martina F. white wines can be purchased from the farm shop.

The educational farm offers an extensive range of activities.

The accommodation

Guest accommodation is provided in 4 characteristic stone “trulli” dwellings with views of the farmyard, fully renovated and comprising bedrooms with barrel vault ceilings and arches, private bathrooms with showers, kitchenettes, TVs in the bedrooms, Wi-Fi, free parking, independent entrances and outside patios.

 

Holy Mass is still celebrated in the on-site chapel today.

Activities and surrounding

As well as strolling among the dry stone walls and age old oak tyres, guests can also take part in some of the host of different workshops offered by the educational farm, enjoy excursions by mountain bike or on foot, go on a guided tour of the farmhouse and the farm and meet the animals, forage for mushrooms or get involved in the harvest (September – October).

The agriturismo is just a short distance from the white city of Ostuni with its stunning historic centre and cathedral, as well as the Adriatic Coast and the hamlets of the Itria Valley.

I have been doing this job for 9 years along with my family.

We take care of: we cook for the guests, we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops.

It was a desire to to keep the family business alive which led me to run an agriturismo.

Our guests especially appreciate the chance to stay in a natural setting.
