via tito schipa, Capilungo Alliste, 73040 Alliste (Lecce)
The agriturismo is located in the part of Salento which stretches from Gallipoli to S. Maria di Leuca, a short distance from the Capilungo marina (800 m from the sea), in a space devoted to agriculture and to preserving the landscape and rural traditions. It is part of an organic olive farm that cares about eco-friendly, responsible tourism, offering environmentally sustainable products and services (from the accommodation to the typical produce).
The setting offers all of the most authentic rural features: dry stone walls, red earth, shrubland and an old “trullo”, a conical stone-roofed house. The farm produces extra virgin olive oil using the cold pressing method.
Guest accommodation is provided on an agri-campsite, which blends naturally and harmoniously into the rural environment. Guests can stay in the spacious and comfortable furnished tents, which are pre-pitched on wooden platforms and hold an average of three people. The tents are well spread out, and positioned in the shade of the age old olive trees.
There are communal bathrooms (baths, showers, sinks and outdoor showers), a refreshment area and a kitchen.
The agriturismo offers excursions on foot or by bicycle to discover the Serre Salentine, a cluster of small hills where Mediterranean shrubland and traditional rural systems coexist in harmony.
The agriturismo spans from the sea on one side, with its sandy and rocky coastline, to the rural inland and its historic hamlets such as Felline and Ugento on the other. In the surrounding area you will find the Punta Pizzo Regional Park and the Ugento coastal park, areas which protect the flora and fauna of this section of the Ionian coast
You can also visit cities such as Gallipoli, with its historic centre built on a limestone island and surrounded by Spanish walls, and Lecce, rich in Baroque architectonic treasures and important cultural sites.
Owners will be held responsible for damage to property and persons.
It is not easy to explain how wonderful it is... You get here and you feel like you're in the family. Restoring serenity and tranquility... Sharing... The curtains are very comfortable. Always clean toilets... Special breakfast. It's the best way to enjoy your real holiday. Even my little girls really appreciate it. They had fun crying over leaving him... How to blame him.. An experience that we will always carry in our hearts... Like the stars every night... And the silence... But also the chats... And the people I met.. Thank you again Laura.. Rocco their puppies and not least John.

We stayed at Macaria a few days during our 2-week holiday in southern Italy. Our two children (12 and 13) loved it, as did we. The surroundings are lovely, the tents and beds very clean. The showers and toilets were also very clean, as was the communal outdoor kitchen. The table football was a huge hit. The decor is tasteful and the place is well looked after. Despite the soaring temperatures (36 degrees Celsius) the tent didn't get overheated because the sides and front could be opened and replaced with musquito nets. Do make sure you keep these well shut and bring sufficient strong musquito repellent. The only downside was that noise from the further surroundings can seem quite close and sometimes there is loud music in the town in the early night. However, the friendly staff surely made up for that and we would not hasten to come back!
Excellent very friendly welcome from Rocco and Terence. Lovely place among olive groves. A nice relaxing time. The tents are very spacious, well furnished (light, fridge and electrical outlets) and very pleasant. It 'nice to have the hammock and table outside available for each tent. Common areas (corner sofa with books, kitchen, children's corner) are spacious, well-equipped and well-cleaned. Great breakfast with local products. Highly recommended. Too bad we stayed only one night! Great location for the beaches.
