Policoro (Matera)
The family-run farm is surrounded by the countryside of Policoro, on the Ionian coast of Basilicata, in the part of Italy once known as the glorious Magna Graecia, steeped in history, monuments and culture.
The sea is just one km away, allowing for a relaxing holiday just a stone’s throw from the beaches.
The owners welcome guests upon their arrival and offer double, triple and quadruple bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom. Accommodation also includes apartments with TV, kitchenette and bathrooms with shower, as well as bungalows (and camping pitches). Internet connection available for a fee.
In the central part of the agriturismo is a restaurant, a communal room, and outside a fully equipped five-a-side football pitch. The restaurant serves authentic dishes made from the farm’s own or local ingredients.
There is also a small children’s playground and bicycles for hire.
Guests can play volleyball, basketball and tennis in the surrounding area, go horse-riding and practice water sports.
A short distance away is a woodland which has been transformed into a WWF oasis.
There are a range of different archaeological sites and must-visits include the nearby and striking Sassi di Matera cave dwellings; the position of the agriturismo means Puglia and Calabria are also within easy reach.
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.
Owners will be held responsible for damage to property and persons.
