C.da San Teodoro Nuovo, loc. Marconia snc -, Pisticci 75015 Pisticci (Matera)
This agriturismo is situated in the middle of a fruit and vegetable growing estate only 5 km away from the white beaches of the Ionian sea. The estate stretches across the soft landscape of the Metapontina plain, which used to be a key centre of Ancient Greece.
The farm, an ancient genteel fortified 1700 construction, is available to those guests whishing to relive its past, re-discover the simple pleasures of country life and the ancient ties with the land, while immersing themselves in the charming genteel atmosphere of an aristocratic country residence in a peaceful environment of great natural beauty.
The estate is the result of numerous transformations carried out by the dukes Marcello and Xenia Visconti di Modrone and by their daughter, the marchioness Marina D’ Oria, thanks to which it is now playing an important role in modern fruit and vegetable growing.
The apartments, which are taken care of by the owners personally down to the last detail, are partly furnished with pieces of furniture belonging to the family and can sleep from 2 to 6 guests, depending on the type. All apartments have a TV, a mini-fridge, a kitchenette, air conditioning and independent heating, terraces and gardens with furniture.
The restaurant, which is the result of a careful restoration of the stables, offers genuine specialities of Basilicata’a traditional cuisine.
The swimming pool, steeped in the green and the scent of citrus fruit, is available to those guests who, to the long white beaches of the Ionian coast, prefer more secluded but nonetheless picturesque spaces.
Those who are interested can watch or take part in the farm’s agricultural activities.

Beautiful surroundings, large and comfortable rooms, and a caring
staff (Silvia, Giovanni, Deborah and Camilla) each of whom made our stay memorable in many ways. The owner and her family were also very hospitable and helpful in arranging a driver for excursions, as our group was without a car.
We stayed in July 2015 two different very quiet and peaceful holiday weeks in San Teodoro Nuovo. Our apartment Ginepro on the first floor of the annex was generous, very tastefully furnished spotlessly clean and had a large private terrace with views of the surrounding orange groves. Only the bathroom is a bit small. The breakfast was good, especially the fresh, sometimes still warm cake tasted very. Cammilla cooked for us a simple but delicious dinner, even though we were part of the only guests. So we had the beautiful garden and the pool often to ourselves and the kids enjoyed the space. The weddings on Saturdays in the main building we were just on the edge with. 10 Mintuten journey to the sea, different Lidi and free sections of the beach with fine sand beach complemented our vacation. In July little was still going on, except on the weekend! All the staff were very concerned about our well-being, whether it be restaurant recommendations, dinner reservations, extra linen change, or excursions. Thanks to Sylvia, Giovanni, Deborah and Camilla for two very relaxing weeks (for the heat wave across Europe they were not responsible!) Those looking for peace and tranquility in a rural location, is right in San Teodoro!

We were guests in the apartment a week Orietta - two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and two bathrooms. Nicely decorated and cozy. The restaurant is great both for the quality of the food to the service. In short, an exceptional memory.
