The accommodation

Immersed in the lush greenery of the Pollino National Park, on the slopes of Monte Caramola, Agriturismo "Il Crepuscolo" consists of two ancient rural buildings, made of stone and finely restored, surrounded by a beautiful natural clearing with woods of beech and oak trees . From the large dining room, complete with a large fireplace, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view, while you enjoy the genuine dishes of traditional cuisine, made with farm produce, served in a welcoming and familiar atmosphere. Since the history of a land can also be read at table, through dishes that reveal the cultural roots of a civilization, "Il Crepuscolo" offers a menu based on simple dishes accompanied by good local wine. The recipes are always different and related to the seasons, excellent mushrooms, truffles, fresh vegetables from the garden, the meat of animals reared in the same company and the strictly homemade fresh pasta and to finish the digestives: fennel, bay leaf , chestnut cream, strawberry, limoncello, liquorice. Typical dishes are: ricotta or mushroom ravioli, fusilli, bread and ham, cavatelli made with legume flour, chestnut escalope, various appetizers. In the store set up for guests you can buy typical products such as sausages, cheeses and more only on request. It is worth stopping even for the restaurant to not miss the good cooking of the landlady who personally takes care of the preparation of the first courses. The rooms, tastefully furnished, are well heated and all have a bathroom and telephone, the simple elements of wood and wrought iron furniture make these rural areas even more welcoming. The farm has 15 beds, 3 rooms and 2 apartments. Throughout the year, "Il Crepuscolo" is available to those who want to spend a relaxing holiday and is an ideal base for excursions and walks in unspoiled nature, perhaps looking for mushrooms and truffles. For horse-riding lovers, horse-riding trips can be organized in the nearby riding school. DSC_0090The Pollino, the largest natural park in Europe, is characterized by its high peaks (over 2200 m.), The highest of all the Southern Apennines, on which, in the most inaccessible parts, it is still possible to admire the rare specimens of the millennial "pines loricati". The beauty of these landscapes and the integrity of the environments make the Pollino a naturalistic oasis where the presence of the Apennine wolf, the golden eagle and the otter is now ascertained. These landscapes are also rich in wildlife and lush vegetation where there are species of precious mushrooms such as black porcino (boletus cereus), ovolo (amanita cesarea), chanterelle (cantarellus cibarius), etc.
