The agriturismo

A small stone village 700 meters above sea level, dating back to about 1850, and surrounded by greenery of 40 hectares of woods, meadows, pastures and arable land. Guests are welcomed into a house where animals, the environment and nature are respected with ecological and sustainable choices. The main building has been renovated, going well beyond green building, with the use of natural and environmentally friendly materials: real lime, oak wood, cork, raw earth and local stone. A photovoltaic solar panel system has been installed for electrical energy and thermal solar panels with wood-fired boiler for the production of domestic hot water and heating.

The accommodation

A small hamlet 700m above sea level, dating back to 1850, immersed in the green of our 40 hectares of woods and meadows (horticulture, small fruits, officinal herbs and orchards), very isolated but 15-minute drive from Borgo Val Di Taro, in the province of Parma (Italy), a few kilometers from Tuscany and the Liguria of the Cinque Terre. We welcome guests in tranquility and nature as they are at home, but in a home where they respect and love animals (human and non), environment and nature with ecological and sustainable choices ranging from everyday life (eg food, eco-bio-detergents -vegan, organic agriculture, synergism and vegan) to the extraordinary (eg renovation, natural and vegan paints, solar systems). The main building, which houses the three double bedrooms with a private bathroom, used for hospitality and our home, has been recently refurbished. We have gone far beyond bio-building, using natural and environmentally friendly materials: real lime, oak, wood, cork, raw earth and local stone; We have installed a photovoltaic solar power plant and solar thermal panels with wood boiler for the production of domestic hot water and for heating: the radiant system is low floor / wall. Other services: natural latex mattresses, electromagnetic circuit breaker, bath linens, hair dryer and towel warmer, eco-friendly detergents, slippers, free Wi-fi in the lounge. Pets are welcome.

Activities and surrounding

The village is isolated but 15 minutes by car from Borgo Val di Taro, a few kilometers from Tuscany and Liguria of the Cinque Terre. A few kilometres away is the WWF Oasis of the Ghirardi: the nature of the Taro Valley is further preserved in these 600 hectares of reserve, which can be visited freely every day. Very interesting excursions on foot, thanks to the paths marked by the CAI, one of which passes behind the farm, and the many branches of the Via Francigena and Via Degli Abati. Borgotaro is also renowned for its PGI Porcini Mushroom, to which a festival and a fair are dedicated every year in autumn.

"Good memory. I hope to return in the company"

My stay lasted less than a week. The service was at 'sign of' hospitality and courtesy. The room where I was hosted cute. Dominating position, immersed in a very appreciable nature with the company of very cute animals. Vegan cuisine, with passion. Well worth the visit. Nearby point out the castle of Compiano, where there is also a village here, pleasant to stroll; for the rest to visit nearby, do not point out another, a bit due to lack of knowledge of the surrounding area a little for reasons of time
