Morfasso (Piacenza)
An agriturismo located at 600 m above sea level in the hamlet of San Michele, in the Piacenza hills. The perfect summer getaway, an oasis of tranquillity away from stress, with all the comforts you could need, and the chance to explore an area rich in history, nature and sport.
This farmhouse, from the early 1900s, has been perfectly renovated and reinvented as an agriturismo to make the most of the quiet and relaxation which permeates the entire town of San Michele. During their stay at the agriturismo, guests will have the chance to use the fully equipped wellbeing centre, complete with outdoor swimming pool with counter current generator and whirlpool, sauna, Turkish bath, salt cave (ideal for those with respiratory disorders and skin conditions, simple colds or simply those who want to feel toned) and indoor whirlpool tub.
The agriturismo has 5 double rooms and one double suite. The restaurant, available upon booking, offers typical Piacenza cuisine, with dishes such as "pisarei con i fasò" (bread dumplings with beans), sweet bird’s nests, roast meats and homemade jam tarts.
Upon booking, you can enjoy mountain biking or trekking along the trails of the nearby Monte Moria Park, or try a spot of horse riding: the agriturismo is located near to the Piacenza bridleway, an ancient route which winds through the pre-Apennines for 200 km.
The region is home to an association of Piacenza castles, a group of medieval defensive structures which stand on many of the area’s hills (such as Gropparello Castle) along with other historic landmarks such as the old Roman theatre in Veleia, where theatrical and historical performances and famous conferences still take place today (and have previously featured personalities such as Margherita Hack and Valerio Massimo Manfredi).
The Golf Club Castell Arquato (Bacedasco Alto) is around 40 minutes away, and the Salsomaggiore Spa Centre can be reached in around an hour.
