Recently returned from a lovely stay at the Castello, mid September. Had a pleasant time and were able to use the fabulous pool due to the warm temperatures. The grounds and setting are perfect with extensive views across the whole of the Pontine plain to the coast. The village is close-by for a vast selection of fresh breads in the morning and places to eat and have a coffee watching village life.
Barbara who greeted us was exceptionally kind and helped us resolve a car problem. She was very informative about places to go and things to see in the area. Our host, Barbara's father was generous with his time proviiding a history of the castle and the area, and always checking that all was well with us. We are planning to return to visit Ninfa again in springtime and will use the property again.

I have to write: the good comments that there are already many, and I agree, I just want to write about a particular exquisite courtesy of the person who received us at the time to pay the bill was wrong on the downside, I have confirmed : I would have to pay more. But she has left to run and made me a discount, with the figure for granted I made a payment to UNICEF.

We (a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children, 11 and 15) have just returned from a 2 week stay here over the Easter break. I had been searching for a place in the Rome area with use of a pool, without much success as it is still early in the season for Italy, until I came across the Castello. I made an enquiry which was promptly answered by Barbara, after which I made a booking. For the 1st week, we had the 'rifugio di Silla' apartment and the 2nd week we had the much larger 'rifugio di Ercole' apartment (I would have preferred that for the 1st week also but it was unavailable).

Due to car rental problems, we arrived about a bit later than planned, about 21:00 on the Saturday night and was duly greeted by Barbara who showed us to our apartment. As we hadn't eaten dinner, Barbara got us into a local restaurant in Cori (Da Checco) which we were very thankful for as we were very hungry! It was packed full of locals and our first pizza was consumed in record time! The next day we spoke with Barbara who gave us some ideas for places to visit, places to eat, travel tips, etc. We also had use of the Wifi although the range didn't extend up to the apartment.

Although there are several apartments, we were the only people staying there as it was early in the season (apart from a few nights) so it was almost like a private villa which suited us as it was nice an quiet. The pool was very nice, and very clean ... and very cold but we expected nothing different for April ... once your in and wet, you're OK. The children enjoyed this very much.

Places we visited that I would recommend :

    - Sabaudia (beach) - I encountered a snake when walking in the woods so watch out
    - Gaeta - Turco Grotto and Parco M.te Orlando
    - Tivoli (various gardens)
    - Rome* (obviously). Drive to Cisterna Di Latina and get the train from there (35 mins)
    - Ninfa Gardens (restricted opening days so check)
    - Norma
    - Sermoneta
    - We also drove down the Naples to see Pompeii and Herculaneum (about 130 miles each way).
    - Nemi
    - Also, drive up the mountains in the evening (or early in the morning!) to catch the sunsets/sunrises.

    * For Rome, we booked tickets online for the Colosseum and Sistine Chapel. Also, if you appreciate fine leather, take a look at this place in Rome ... http://darioalfonsi.com/

    Restaurants I would recommend :

    - Da Checco, Cori (we went here twice - the food was very nice)
    - Ristorante Locanda dell' Arcangelo, Rocca Massima (we ate here on Easter Monday - a set menu. The food was very nice)

Overall, we very much enjoyed our holiday and we are very thankful to Barbara for her welcoming and advice, and her assistance in getting us booked into restaurants.

    Thanks.

"Family holidays in Castello in Cori"

    10/06/2014

We stayed in August for a week in Castello. It was the perfect start to our holiday. The apartment was cozy and nicely decorated. There was everything there that you need. The garden, the pool, the whole area is really beautiful landscaped and maintained. Everywhere rosemary, lavender, orange and lemon trees and olive trees everywhere you look and kiwis. With good view from up here can see the sea. Here there was a wonderful peace and mutual respect. Where can you even at full moon alone in pool? The kiddies loved it cool. Thanks to Barbara and her team. We know in the area, but unfortunately they had good advice for us but not olive oil. We will come back ....

    "Hospitality, apartment en gardens fantastic"

    08/10/2014

July 2014 we spend 10 great days in Castello Santa Margherita. It was the perfect place to get a good rest during the first days. Also to make a lot of trips in the surrounding. There such a lot to see so that you do not have to go to Roma. We have to back to see more.

Cori is very interesting; for instance a beautiful temple. When Cori was lying in Toscana and they spend some money for restauration, it would be the most visited place.

    Barbara and family thanks,
Huib Pijpers and Brigitte Pijpers - Onstenk

We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) and we enjoyed our stay with Barbara. The garden is beautiful, lovely pool and spacious apartment, fresh and exotic. The kitchen allowed us to cook fresh food offered by farmers Cori. Dolce vita was there! Hope to return one day.

    07/21/2014

We spent 8 nights in the Loggia di Cora and felt very comfortable there. The apartment is clean and tastefully decorated and equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils. The grounds are well maintained, comfortable and quaint. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. The location near Rome is ideal for day trips (by train). We enjoyed our stay very much recommend the Castello Santa Margherita happy to get on and think again.

We spent two weeks at this beautiful farm, taking advantage of the convenient location to visit Rome (by train from the nearby station of Cisterna di Latina). Barbara and her family were just wonderful to welcome, kindness, availability. The apartments are very nice, tastefully decorated and very functional. The castle is a true oasis of serenity surrounded by greenery, with the ability to take a dip in the pool (run flawlessly), or relax in the sun on the lawn adjacent to it.

    "Wonderful family holiday and celebration"

    03/15/2013

Wonderful time in "our castle" in June 2012! We rented the whole place for our family and children's families. Place was perfect for enjoying relaxing time together. Staying together all day long you need some privacy during nights. The apartments were nicely furnished and practical. Very suitable for five couples. Children were swimming all day long, grandparents had time to relax, take walks in the beautiful little town Cori. in the evenings we made dinner together, there was a grill we could borrow. Barbara helped us to organize everything. Children are still talking about the holiday in Italy under the warm sun and the castle.
We also organized a 50th birthday celebration at the winery near Cori - thanks to Barbara everything worked perfectly and the party was something special.

    10/17/2012

There were 14 wonderful days with many experiences. It is easy on the sea (35 km), in the mountains and in Rome (30 minutes by train). The unit was set up perfectly, from the terrace you could see the sea, the pool was ours the end of September alone. Thank you Barbara, have you cared lovingly for us.

"Thank you Barbara for the lovely staing at Castello Santa Margherita"

    08/23/2012

Dear Barbara, Castello Margherita was fantastic! The appartment was beautiful and the garden and swimmingpool are wunderful. We were staying there for 1 week for visiting Rome but with all the information that you had given us 1 week was too short. All the lovely places nearby Castello Margherita and Restaurants: it was great. The winetasting by Marco Carpeneti was fantastic.
Our daugther wouldn´t go home and last week we were saying to each other: next year again!
Thank you Barbara and Marco and we will see you next year!

    Ciao from Amsterdam,

    Ilze, Martin en Anouk
