She actually drove to pick us up on the road outside of town because my husband had hurt his back (we were walking a pilgrimage) and he just couldn't go on. The accommodations were lovely, the food was beyond belief fantastic, the grounds were stunning. Upon leaving Rita actually drove us to the beginning of the trail head so we could resume our pilgrimage to Rome. 04/17/2015We are two couples who stayed at Il Tesoro for three days, cycling and exploring surroundings. We stayed on the second floor at Oro & Argento and Platino—a really nice and comfortable accommodation. The day of our arrival was very cold and we were met with a lit fireplace in the hall! Il Tesoro features fantastic food, prepared on site from local ingredients. We loved breakfasts but especially dinners! We had long cycling days and Rita was very flexible about time for the dinner. Overall, the service at Il Tesoro was extremely good, Rita appeared to be a great host. And, though we have used many of the site’s facilities, we did not have to pay any extras. Il Tesoro has great capabilities for cycling. Visiting Acquapendente, Vitozza, Sorano, Bagnoregio and Orvieto and a local winery nearby was a great experience. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to visit nearby Torre Alfina, which looks so romantic from Il Tesoro. Rita arranged bike rent for us, very convenient. The bikes were ok and the rent was cheap, but for the next visitor I would recommend to ask for higher quality bikes, especially if longer trips are planned.
