The history of our family home’s origins gets lost back in the eighteenth century. La Casa del Bosco, as the villa has always been called, during the last century was home to Giacomo Devoto: an illustrious intellectual of the Italian history known for being the author of the Italian Dictionary and one of the leading international experts on Indo-European languages. In the forties and the fifties the villa became the main abode of the Professor: we jealously keep his desk in the room named after him.
Later on the house was acquired by my grandparents - the musician Benedetto Ginocchio and his wife Mari Devoto.
Today the house has been completely renovated by my mother Grazia, together with my father Arnaldo and I, Sandro, in accordance with its nineteenth-century origins by restoring the old wooden floors, the exposed beams, the stone walls and by taking care of the furniture in order to recreate the yesteryear’s typical atmosphere and warmth.
At Casa del Bosco you will find an historical, charming and romantic house, surrounded by nature whilst a few miles from the main places of touristic interest. The villa is located on a panoramic position overlooking the village and the surrounding valley: to get there you have to walk along a small uphill path that winds through a lush forest of beech, fir and chestnut trees and next to a stream with its little waterfalls.
For those who do not want to leave the farm to reach the sea or the mountains, it is possible for them to enjoy the peace and the quiet of our garden, to cool off in the stream and enjoy its waterfalls, or to chill out in our small swimming pool (7m x 3m x 1,20m depht) and in the solarium area.
In the house there is a big living room with a fireplace, a reading area and six bedrooms: each one has got a private bathroom and a wardrobe, in some cases even a sitting area or a fireplace too.
Professore room : fourfold family room (2 adults + 2 kids) / Junior suite (2 adults) bathroom, wardrobe, desk one double bed and sofa trasformable in 2 single beds, panoramic view.
Patronale room : triple room ( 2 adults + 1 kid) / junior suite (2 adults) with double bed and single bed, wardrobe, desk, fireplace and bathroom.
Bellavista Paese double room : double bed with bathroom, little desk, wardrobe and a panoramic view of the village.
Bellavista valle double room : double bed with bathroom, wardrobe, little desk and panoramic view of the valley.
Magnolia double room: double room with view, bathroom little terrace.
Rustica double room : double bed with bathroom and wardrobe. It is dug into the rock and entirely finished in stone and wood.
Apartment Torretta: two floors flat with bathroom and kitchen, two bedrooms and terrace, tv.
In the summertime, breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the valley, the gardens, the fruit trees and the flowers that surround the entire house while, during the coldest months of the year, we serve meals in the dining room - set in an ancient wine cellar, partly dug into the rock, with stone arches, wooden floors and slate floor. Right next to it there is the kitchen where we prepare the traditional Ligurian dishes by using the finest ingredients and our home-grown products.
Our farm house is mainly based on the cultivation of olive trees, vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants, and on the orchard (cultivated with plum, peach, cherry, apple, pear, apricot, sour orange, lemon, fig). We use most of our fruit for the production of sorbets, jams and homemade cakes that can be enjoyed during the morning breakfast or can be bought and taken home with you.
At the core of Agriturismo Casa del Bosco there is passion for the Earth, its fruits and its inhabitants. The farm is immersed into the Nature, and is careful to respect it and to take care of it with love, dedication and through a careful use of resources and materials.
Our region, caught between the sea and the mountains, offers a wide variety of landscapes and environments: at the farm we will offer you an excellent guide to the most important natural and cultural places of interest.

Wonderful place and stunning nature we really enjoyed our time
This B & B is very quiet. No cars at the house, but down in the parking lot. Upon arrival we were picked up at the parking with our suitcases. The next few days we walked to our roads for a few minutes. Very friendly owners. We were well spoiled. Sandro knows his region very well. We had to say what we liked to do and there was an excursion. A few days a week you can register for dinner. We have not enjoyed this service. We have really enjoyed the peace and the contact with the owners and other holidaymakers. Highly recommended!
