The agriturismo
This authentic family-run agriturismo is situated in the Cinque Terre National Park, in Monterosso, one of the most pristine seaside villages in the world. With almost 9 hectares of land, olive groves, vineyards, fruit orchards and a forest, it has a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding hills, and is also very close to the sea.
Even though the countryside in Liguria can be rugged, in addition to olives and grapes, the farm also produces vegetables and various types of fruit, including renowned Monterosso lemons; guests can enjoy wine and olive oil tastings, where traditional Liguria snacks are also offered.
The accommodation
The guest rooms are named after the three vineyards where 5 Terre DOC wines are produced, and have terracotta floors, wood beamed ceilings, wood furnishings and finishes, bathrooms and large outdoor areas with tables, chairs and lounges to admire the Gulf of the Cinque Terre. Albarola is a double room with an additional single bed; Bosco has a spacious entryway, a double bed and two single beds; Vermentino has one double bed, as well as a single bed, and another room with a bunk bed.
The farm’s products are the main ingredients for the cuisine:fresh pesto, garden vegetables, olive oil, wine, homemade cakes and desserts. Fresh seafood is also on the menu. Breakfast is served on the veranda or in the garden, and prepared with ingredients from the farm.
Activities and surrounding
Monterosso al Mare is the largest village of the Cinque Terre, and also the oldest (1056). It is made up of two settlements, the old village and Fegina, the more touristic area, and has some very important historical monuments:the Church of S. Giovanni Battista, the Fieschi Castle and the monastery, which houses paintings attributed to Van Dyck, Cambiaso, Piola and Guido Reni. From Monterosso it is easy to reach Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore by train, ferry or on one of the numerous trails along this section of coastline.
