The agriturismo
The Cascina Poscallone is an ancient agricultural site of 1400 or perhaps earlier, overlooking the Naviglio Grande, perhaps in ancient times was the grange of a monastery. The "Novecento" building was restored in 2018, is heated in winter and cooled in summer by means of geothermal energy, as can the ancient and adjacent "Monastery", home of the owners. The "Novecento" contains a studio apartment accessible to the disabled and two rooms, each with private bathroom and Jacuzzi with bath or shower. Each room is equipped with TV, hairdryer and security door. It is possible to have separate beds. Free parking available to customers.
The accommodation
Agriturism Cascina Poscallone is located in Abbiategrasso, just 24 Km from Milan.
It is an ancient mansion, probably part of a monastery in the 15th century, encompassing 3 buildings, built at different times.
The building named "Novecento" has undergone total renovation in 2018, it now includes
- two double rooms each with its private bathroom and either a hydromassage shower or a jacuzzi;
- a studio apartment, also accessible to physically challenged people, with a kitchen featuring refrigerator, dishwasher, and all necessary items for cooking a proper meal.
All units feature air conditioning, a flat TV screen, wifi, hair dryer, and a security door. Double beds can be turned indo twin beds. Parking is free for guests. This building is both heated in winter and refreshed in summer through a geotermic boiler, like the adjacent building "Monastery".
An Italian or American breakfast can be enjoyed at the property, with organic fresh eggs from the farm.
The farm stay offers a sunny garden and a great view of the Naviglio Grande, the most ancient waterway to Milan. In Winter, guests can also enjoy the fireplace lounge.
Milan is 25 km from Agriturismo Cascina Poscallone, while Pavia is 39 km away.
You may want to reach the Subway station of Milano Bisceglie (MM1) in 20 minutes by car, park your vehicle and proceed to the city center in another 25 minutes, so that you can take a stroll in the famous fashion district without worrying about parking.
The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa Airport, 33 km from the farm. No need to take any highway from the airport, just follow the signs or set your sat-nav to Magenta and then to Abbiategrasso Viale Giotto. On Viale Giotto, at the intersection with Via Crivellino you will find street signs pointing a dirt road leading to the farm.
Please notice: the farm is visible on Google Maps, but it might not be visible from another sat-nav. The dirt road leading to the farm can be accessed from Viale Giotto, in front of Via Crivellino, in Abbiategrasso. There are street signs on Viale Giotto. Please give us a call if you cannot find us.
