The agriturismo
The farm Cascina La Maddalena, located in the hamlet of San Giacomo in the municipality of Rocca Grimalda, includes about 5 hectares of vineyards falling totally within the DOC Dolcetto d'Ovada, Barbera del Mon ferrato and Monferrato Rosso as well as Ovada DOCG.
Cascina La Maddalena is family-run: Anna takes care of the vineyards and hospitality while Danilo is dedicated to winemaking and the cellar.
The accommodation
La Maddalena Bed & Wine is surrounded by vineyards, far from busy roads and therefore quite quiet. Here guests can listen to the sounds of nature and observe its colors from sunrise to sunset.
The property has rooms of different types, from double rooms up to rooms for large families, some with panoramic views of the valley and vineyards. Also available to guests are rooms in the farm house (typical rural house), some with a fireplace. All accommodations are furnished in country style, with private bathrooms and surrounded by vineyards.
The farmhouse has Wi-fi, a panoramic terrace so guests can admire breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, a barbecue and a relaxing gazebo , furnished with tables and chairs to enjoy nature.
Guests of the property have private parking and the possibility of putting bikes and motorcycles under cover for the night.
Activities and surrounding
Upon reservation, La Maddalena Bed & Wine organizes tastings of locally produced wines with local cured meats and cheeses.
Food service is not provided, but there are excellent restaurants and typical trattorias nearby.
The property is included in a cycling circuit where guests equipped with mountain bikes can discover the surrounding trails. For those who prefer walking, all they have to do is go into a row or trail.
