The agriturismo
In the middle of Monferrato region, among hills and vineyards, this XIX° century villa rises with its great park, a perfect destination to relax. In the old stables it's possible to taste the traditional dishes and the wines, produced in the evocative cellars. At the upper floor, six rooms facing on the see of vineyards and on the park.
The accommodation
The first news about a fortress date back to the XVI Century, when the Perroni family built the castle where nowadays the villa rises. Wonderful testimonies of the original castle are still visible into the underground cellars. By the beginning of the XX Century the farm develops the wine making activity and, since 1986, one of the first in Piedmont and in Italy, the Farm Holiday is open.
Nowadays, staying in our villa means high quality farm holiday and value wines, with a welcoming, country stables where it's possible to taste the traditional Monferrato dishes, cooked with skill, often with ingredients coming from the estate kitchen garden and from the orchard.
It means high quality welcome with nine rooms to spend relaxing week ends, far from the stressing cities. Three rooms are placed it the rustic house, facing on the courtyard, with an exquisite country style, and two bathrooms in the corridor. These ones are perfect for family with children and for groups of young people. The other six rooms are placed in at the upper floor of the villa, in a very panoramic position over the sea of hills and vineyards, or over the wonderful XVII century park. Furnished with modern and spacious baths, they distinguish for the antique design, for the frescos and for the spacious and bright rooms.
Every one has the name of one of the produced wines: the Barbera and the Primula Rossa ones are the top rooms: very spacious, furnished with sofas and armchairs, and with a sunny balcony facing over the silent park. They also have the possibility to have a second bed, to transform an elegant suite into a comfortable three person room.
This villa means than value wines, coming from the estate vineyard surrounding the villa and produced, following the old traditions, in the evocative cellars: the white wine Raggio di Luna (Ray of Moon), a blend of malvasia greca and cortese, to Barbesino (produced under the control of the Guardianship Consortium, a blend of barbera, grignolino and freisa), and the classical DOC of the region: Monferrato Freisa, Grignolino del Monferrato casalese, and our most important wine, the Barbera del Monferrato, produced in the Sparkling, Normal and Superiore versions, the last one olded into great wood barrels for fours years.
In the little shop, finally, it's possible to find a lot of different food products of the piedmont craftsmanship. For a special present, to bring back home a tempting souvenir, or to enjoy a unique snack into the peace of our courtyard.
