The agriturismo
The agriturismo is situated in Barbagia at 20 km from Nuoro, in the heart of Sardinia, on a vast plateau at 700m altitude called "Sa Serra".
The farm covers over 350 hectares of fruit and vegetable plantations, irrigated fields and beehives, and raises cows, pigs and horses. There are also two small artificial lakes, one of which is used to farm trout.
The accommodation
The agriturismo offers 7 bedroomsin the farmhouse in the middle of the estate. The complex has been painstakingly restored to preserve its typical original features and using the traditional rural building materials of the local area.
Guests may avail of two dining rooms (one of which used to be an old animal shed, now restored and converted), a recently built "pinnetu" (shepherd’s cabin) used for many different functions (cocktails, coffee and other occasions), a kitchen and a car park.
There is also a large garden, a children’s playground and a library.
Pasta- and cheese-making workshops are organised for groups, and guests may also take part in the farm activities: production of milk, cheeses, cured meats, cakes, wine and honey, as well as tending to the livestock.
Activities and surrounding
The farm is situated on a vast plateau, where guests can go hiking and canoeing, and watch the animals grazing.
Within a 20 km distance is Orune with the Su Tempiesu holy well and Nuoro, home to the house of Grazia Deledda, the Costume Museum and MAN Museum.
Archaeological sites and beaches can be reached in less than one hour.
