The agriturismo

The Gigliotto farmhouse, surrounded by green hills, is a fiefdom of more than 200 hectares of fertile land cultivated in the sign of rural tradition. The farmhouse is an ancient monastery dating back to the 1300s and is built around an ancient hamlet with exposed stone houses overlooked by 14 comfortable rooms and a large dining room, a meeting place for the aromas and flavors of typical island cuisine. The old monastery house has been renovated, allocating it to hospitality for tourists, with 14 cozy rooms furnished in Sicilian style, with en-suite bathrooms and terracotta floors.

The accommodation

Six of the rooms enjoy a private terrace (2 triples and 4 doubles) and two are equipped for the disabled (1 double and 1 quad).

The structure consists of several bodies of buildings that in their distribution give rise to an internal courtyard to which the adjacent structures converge. The thick stone walls and the particular ventilated hillside exposure protect the structure from the normal summer heat peaks, and the paddle fans manage to maintain a healthy and natural ideal temperature. The Gigliotto farmhouse is open year-round, and all rooms enjoy modern central heating in the winter period.

Activities and surrounding

At the center of a large property of more than 200 hectares, on a hilltop overlooking all of eastern Sicily, stands the "Gigliotto" agritourism farm.

Mythological and artistic Sicily is just a few kilometers from the farm's headquarters, and its location in the heart of the land of the sun makes the farm a barycentric starting point for excursions to Taormina, Agrigento, Syracuse, Piazza Armerina (9 km) with its famous Roman Villa del casale, Morgantina with its Greek theater, and Caltagirone (15 km) with its majolica tiles.
