The agriturismo
La Dimora del Decano is the ideal location for those who love peace and the countryside, for holidays with children and for anyone looking to rediscover ancient Sicilian traditions. A skilful renovation process in 2015 preserved all of the house's original features: thick walls, exposed stone and the use of natural materials make the spaces characteristic and beautiful.
Homemade bread, hand-picked olives and tomatoes left to dry in the sun are transformed into delicious local specialties.
The agriturismo also offers a communal lounge and a small wellness centre. Outside you’ll find a “baglio” (a traditional Sicilian internal courtyard) and a garden, with a dedicated children’s area.
The accommodation
The house is located on a 65 hectare organic farm, where premium vegetables, carob and olive trees are produced in accordance with the rules of organic farming.
Granaio is a 70 square metre house with a large stone wall and understated, relaxing colours. A comfortable environment, comprising a living area with lounge-kitchen and sofa bed, a bathroom and a double bedroom.
Palmento is a two-level stone cottage, 400 m from the main building, comprising a large living area with a double sofa bed, a brick kitchen with a wood burning oven, a full-size bathroom and a mezzanine with one double and one single bedroom. Outside you’ll find a patio with tables, chairs and loungers, overlooking a beautiful garden.
Pieve was the district church, the exterior retaining its original appearance but inside now a mini-apartment on two levels. On the lower floor you’ll find the living space with kitchen and bathroom, and on the upper floor an open plan double bedroom.
Activities and surrounding
Scicli is a tranquil town, reserved, but at the same time vibrant, dynamic and welcoming.
It spreads over a vast plain, surrounded by three quarries: Modica, Santa Maria La Nova and San Bartolomeo. Rich in history, art and tradition, following the earthquake in 1693, it was rebuilt in baroque style, and in 2002, Unesco recognised its buildings and churches as a World Heritage Site.
The agriturismo is nestled in the Scicli countryside, just a few kilometres from the historic centres of Scicli, Modica and the sandy beaches of Sampieri. Just a 30 minute drive takes you to Ragusa, Ibla and Noto, a World Heritage Site for its Sicilian baroque, and the set of a famous TV series.
Lovers of the sea will enjoy easy access to Fornace Penna, Sampieri and Cava d’Aliga. The agriturismo’s location is ideal for day trips to the main tourist attractions of South-Eastern Sicily, from the Vendicari Reserve to the lakes of Avola, the ruins of the Necropolis of Pantalica, Syracuse, the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, the Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina, Catania, Mount Etna and Taormina.

As well as we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops, we rear the animals.
It was a desire to to keep the family business alive which led me to run an agriturismo.
