Strada provinciale 15 Avola-Bochini-Noto, Noto 96012 Avola (Syracuse)
In the Hyblaean hills, in an area rich in historic and natural interest, in the spectacular valley of the River Cassibile, or Kacyparis as it was called in ancient Greek: the farm’s position is ideal for accessing almost every Sicilian province. A few km from the wonderful Baroque town of Noto, the spectacular Cava Grande canyon, the picturesque Modica and the intense scent of the sea on Capo Passero.
The professionalism is that of a 4 star establishment, both in terms of accommodation and service, and comes with a warm and friendly welcome. There are 8 guest rooms in a nineteenth century “borgetto”, and 2 suites complete with lounge, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms.
The restaurant offers the finest traditional Sicilian and Mediterranean dishes. There is ample parking surrounded by age old olive trees and striking mulberry plants which frame the swimming pool, reserved for guests only, with a kiosk and deckchairs. Laundry service.
Gusts can enjoy horse riding, mycological trekking, excursions and guided tours all over the Hyblaean region, as well as archery and cycling. The Noto Valley is a short distance away, along with the beaches of Avola, the Lido di Noto, the Vendicari nature reserve, Calamosche beach and the ancient tuna fishing village of Marzamemi. A short drive will take you to Syracuse, where Greek wonders meet high society in the ancient Ortygia streets.

we stayed for 3 nights (nov) in off season and were the only guests. the property is huge and more beautiful than the pictures are showing. Great for kids - no cars, a lot to see and to do. definitely our best agriturismo (other was case damma) stay on sicily. Unfortunately was the kitchen/restaurant already closed, so don't forget to ask Vincenzo before. Shopping is not that far away (10 minutes drive to avola).
This is not your typical small-sized agriturismo, it's more of a bigger run place where you can easily have breakfast/diner with 30 people and where atmosphere and contact with the owners is less than at other agriturismos we visited. The rooms are really good, breakfast has most things you need, diner was not very special although filling our own cannolo's was really nice.
The people at this place where not the most welcoming though, asking questions about itineraries etc. always felt like we were disturbing them. They advertise with horseback riding, but it's quite a struggle to actually get it to go. Definitely good enough for a nice stay, also with your own terrace just outside the room, but if we ever go back to this part of Sicily we'll probably look for another more intimate place with more warm people.
We stayed at Agriturismo Val di Noto near the end of an inspiring 20-day trip through Italy. We were attracted by previous favourable reviews but were left disappointed. To start with the positives: the agriturismo is set in a beautiful location and the pool was a welcome reprieve on a hot summer's day. Despite this, we were charged EUR90 for one night (despite seeing cheaper rates on this site) and then saw the same or better style of room we stayed in advertised on Booking.com for EUR52 (down from EUR70). The shower in our room was also broken resulting in the showerhead dropping and hitting us on the head when showering. Also, despite wifi being advertised it is not available outside of a small reception area.
Turning to the food offering, we each paid EUR20 for a meal centered around delicious ricotta made on site. However, the rest of the food fell well below our expectations formed from reading previous reviews and consisted of different forms of a heavy baked and burnt bread masquerading as pizza. Turning up to breakfast an hour after it had begun, we were awarded for our tardiness with scraps of cold egg, a reimagining of the previous night's "pizza" and warm yoghturt. The old adage of the early bird and the worm held true as the earlier risers had enjoyed the day's fruit offering and no more was resupplied.
We left disappointed and would not return for the price we paid.
