Loc. Ventrina Km. 186,600, Partina di Bibbiena -, Bibbiena 52010 Bibbiena (Arezzo)
An old farmhouse overlooks the Valle del Casentino on the edge of the Foreste Casentinesi Park. The building, near parish churches, hermitages and castles is surrounded by nature near forests that are considered to be some of the most beautiful in Europe, with fallow deer, deer and roe deer. Just a short distance from Arezzo, Florence and Siena, it is an oasis of peace and serenity where gourmets can enjoy an all natural and healthy cuisine.
The farmhouse has rooms that sleep 2, 3 or 4 people and apartments that sleep from 2 to 6; all lodgings include a private bath, TV and a splendid view of the valley.
The small family-style restaurant is only open to guests at the agritourism. It offers traditional Tuscan dishes, homemade products (like cakes and jams) and organic vegetables direct from the garden belonging to the agritourism, which produces extra virgin olive oil, zolfini beans, nuts, wild fennel and cherries.
In its panoramic position, from the lawn, solarium and the equipped pool surrounded by a rocky garden, you can enjoy sunny days surrounded by breathtaking forests and lawns along with deer, fallow deer and roe deer. There is a barbecue and an old wood-burning oven under an old loggia.
Visiting the farm can be arranged by reservation with the possibility of renting mountain bikes and quad runners for entering the forests and discovering the surrounding area. On the agritourism property and in the bordering Foreste Casentinesi Park you can take walks in the shade of the chestnuts and centuries-old forests, also accompanied by expert environmental guides. Plus, guided night visits can be organized to see the local wildlife (deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar and foxes). Those who enjoy sports can take horseback rides or riding lessons and the Centro Ippico Casentino, only 15 minutes from the agritourism by car. The Tripoli Lake, for sport fishing is 5 km away and there are tennis courts and a golf course in the nearby towns of Bibbiena and Poppi.
For art and culture enthusiasts, the agritourism's central location in the Valle del Casentino allows for visits in the immediate vicinity to the Sanctuary of the Verna and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso; you can admire ceramics by Della Robbia, the historic center of Bibbiena, the village of Poppi with the Conti Guidi castle, the Hermitage of Camaldoli with its medicinal pharmacy where you can purchase wholesome liqueurs and natural beauty and hygiene products, the Romanesque parish church and the castle of Romena, Stia, Pratovecchio, the castle of San Nicolò and Etruscan sites like Idoli Lake and the Etruscan altar near the Church of the Pieve in Socana. Just a short distance away are the cities of Arezzo with its magnificent cathedral and the Piazza Grande known for the Festa del Saracino and for its antique stores (the antique fair is every first Saturday and Sunday of the month), Florence (a visit to the Uffizi can be reserved at the agritourism) and Siena.

We spent our summer vacation 2017 at Mariangela's and Gigi's Agriturismo Casentino. It was our first trip to Italy and we are still enthusiastic about it. If you think foreign languages may be an obstacle - it's not true at this place. Although we had no common language we spent three weeks in which we felt very much like visiting good old friends. The place itself is very nice for children with two friendly dogs (Axel and Sheila), a big pool and a lot of wildlife, but also for adults who are looking for a place to relax with great landscape views. The area isn't that touristic and it's perfect for hiking, day trips to famous tuscany sights - and very good, organic grown food! We appreciated a lot to have the choice between having dinner at the Agriturismo or cooking by ourselves in the appartement. Every dinner we had at the Agriturismo wasn't less than perfect: Plenty of regional food (according to recipes and ingredients!) in a very fine quality. We can also recommend the rich breakfast. About wildlife: Within three weeks we've seen eagles fly over the Agriturismo thrice and at night stag beetles flying. Unfortunately we missed the firefly event a few weeks before our arrival (ask Mariangela to tell you about it). Our hosts produce a very fine olive oil and Mariangela makes a delicious lemon liquor. Be sure to try it!
It's the first time after numerous vacations in different countries thet we feel like visiting the same place again.
Thanks Mariangela and Gigi for the great time and give Axel and Sheila a pat from us.
