località Catarsena di Sopra, Gressa 52011 Bibbiena (Arezzo)
The farmhouse offers hospitality in a villa of the late '700, between Florence and Arezzo, near the National Park of the Casentino Forests, with swimming pool.
Hospitality is offered in two different buildings about 300 meters away from each other: the Farmhouse and the Master Villa, both dating back to the '700.
The farmhouse, surrounded by about 90 hectares of land owned by the company, is located at 450 meters above sea level, in a panoramic position, isolated, about 6 km from the center of Bibbiena, a charming town in the heart of the valley of Casentino and not far from the border of the National Park of Casentino Forests.
For the Casentino are worthy of note, among other places: Franciscan Sanctuary of La Verna, Monastery and Hermitage of Camaldoli, Castle of Poppi, Dominican convent of Santa Maria del Sasso, Stia, famous for the fabric Casentino, Romanesque church of Romena and adjacent castle, Castle of Porciano, Bibbiena and many small villages, Romanesque churches and castles. The most famous and important cities: Florence (65 km), Arezzo (35 km), Siena (110 km), Cortona (55 km), Assisi (130 km), Perugia (120 km).
The territory of the farm is varied and the landscape passes from that typical of the middle hill, once cultivated with arable land or wooded arable land, to that of the meadows and pastures of the Apennines. The more than 300 hectares of 'natural' woods are mainly rich in oaks, chestnuts, beeches, hornbeams and many other more or less sporadic species, while the approximately 200 hectares of artificial woods, planted from the 1950s to the early 1980s, are made up of pines, firs, cedars, cypresses and other conifers.
In the last 10 years, wood plantations have also been built with different species of trees in order to produce valuable wood, such as cherry, walnut, oak, ash, pear and sorb, for a total of about 45 hectares and about 40,000 plants. Wooded areas are mainly pasture land.
Only 15 minutes walk from the farm, included in the company property, there is a lake for fishing. Guests can alternate the days dedicated to trips and excursions in the beautiful valley of Casentino or the most famous cities of Tuscany and Umbria to pleasant, quieter days, taking walks in the grounds of the property or relaxing in the pool or in the garden.
We stayed in the "small" of the villa (small so to speak ...). Very spacious, nice, clean and with a fully equipped kitchen (there being no food is not bad) and two small bathrooms perfect. The tenants of the apartment we have done great visit: still more beautiful and huge, suitable for large families or groups of friends.
We did not know the area: the Casentino. It 'pretty much mountain, nothing to do with the Sienese hills, but the places definitely worth "the ticket" (Poppi, Chiusi, Camaldoli, Arezzo). The owners are very hospitable.

We stayed here for 1 week in August and wished we had discovered it earlier ....we would then have stayed for 2 weeks!
The Villa is incredibly beautiful, restored to a meticulous level. We will come back again when we have the chance.
