Via Aretina Vecchia, 37, 52014 Poppi (Arezzo)
The agriturismo is located inside a farmhouse from the 1900s located in the middle of the Casentino Valley, at Tuscany's green heart. Its name is inspired by the taste of the honey produced on the farm (“dolce” is Italian for sweet), and the beautiful view (or “vista”) of the Castello dei Conti Guidi (the nearby castle also known as the Castello dei Poppi).
With the swimming pool, the ping-pong table and the play area, children can have fun and enjoy themselves up close with nature. Depending on the season, guests can also observe the honey extraction, pick apples from the farm’s apple orchard or forage for mushrooms or chestnuts.
The agriturismo offers guest accommodation in 3 apartments, all recently renovated but preserving their typical Tuscan rural features, with carefully selected, tasteful furnishings. Perfect for families with children or groups of friends, the apartments include fully equipped kitchens, bedrooms with hand-crafted wrought iron beds and spacious bathrooms. The accommodation also offers underfloor heating powered by a wood burning boiler and solar panels and roof ventilation.
Guests also have access to a spacious “taverna” with kitchen, open fireplace and wood burning stove, and an outdoor infinity swimming pool (14x5 m) with Roman steps and views of the Castello di Poppi.
The agriturismo’s strategic location makes it the ideal base for exploring the Casentino’s most interesting and intriguing spots: spiritual destinations such as the Verna Sanctuary (the home of Saint Francis), the Camaldoli Hermitage, the Romena Castle and the San Pietro Church, and the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Sasso in Bibbiena are all just a few minutes away by car.
The ancient hamlets of Poppi, Bibbiena and Stia are also easily accessible. Florence and Siena are an hour away, and 30 minutes takes you to Arezzo.
The region’s nature is perfect for mountain biking along white roads and mountain trails, and guided excursions around the Foreste Casentinesi National Park (as well as visits to the Planetarium).
There are also golf courses and lakes, as well as photography workshops and days with the “Amici dell'Asino” (Friends of the Donkeys).
