The agriturismo
The Castello, in the heart of Chianti, is right near Impruneta, and the terracotta kilns; we’re 12 km from Florence and one-hour car ride from Siena.
Dating to the 1300s, this place is full of history and charm, surrounded by an organic farm with 80 hectares of forest, 11 hectares of olive grove (Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino varieties from which we make the awarded organic oil) and 2 hectares of vineyards that produce the precious IGT Toscana Cafaggio. All products (including honey and vinegar) may be purchased onsite.
The accommodation
Guests are offered a suite in the castle, flats and a room in the adjacent farm house, and a small independent home, nestled in nature, 150 metres from the castle. Each has TV, Wi-fi and air conditioning.
Outdoors there are gardens, veggie patches, forest with centuries-old plants (where Puccini also strolled) and a large pool with a breath taking view. Breakfasts are made onsite and served in the spectacular art nouveau room in the castle; we organize tours and tastings of the organic products made here in the ancient cellars of the castle and the mill. Dinners, upon reservation, in the courtyard.
