The agriturismo
The castle is completely surrounded by the green Chianti hills, enclosed by vineyards and woods where you can relax walking in the shade of oak and chestnut threes. It is an ideal place to start daily trips to the wonderful Tuscany towns: Florence is only 25 km. far, Siena and San Gimignano about 45, Arezzo about 55 and Pisa about 105.
The accommodation
The castle and the lands surrounding it are places full of history and atmosphere.
Once the castle rose in a strategic and defensive position like a sentinel on the “Via Cassia Imperiale”, one of the main roman roads built by the Emperor Adriano in the 123 a.C. It was built in the XVI century a.C. after the destruction of the previous building, burnt and sacked during one of the several local wars at the end of the XV century.
The estate disposes of ten apartments. Some of them are located directly in the farm centre, very close to the medieval castle, with entrance from the old stone court where the wine shop, the offices and the ancient cellar face.
The other apartments have been built in an old country house with hayloft, at about 700 metres from the castle. The house is called “Le Giuncaie” as the vineyard skirting it.
They respect the old tuscan rustic style with their wooden beams and terracotta tiled floors, but they are equipped with all the comforts like independent heating, telephone and satellite television.
Every apartment has got one or more bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge and freezer, cooker, electric oven and sink.
All the apartments have been recently renewed.The choice of the furniture has been made taking care of the details: the handicraft and ancient pieces, often antiques, and the rich curtains and blankets make unique every apartment.
The apartments are provided with bath and bed linen. Linen change is usually done at the end of each week of staying, but if requested, there is the possibility to have it every day, as the room service.
It is also possible, always on demand, using the laundry which is equipped with washing and drying machines. In every apartment there is an iron with its ironing-board.

The stone country house, which once was the house of the farm workers, is surrounded by a fresh garden, equipped with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas and a playground for children with a see-saw, a slide and some picnic tables. Close the building there is a swimming pool of 14 x 7 meters with chairs, sun beds and sun umbrellas.
