Palazzuolo sul Senio (Florence)
Located at a height of 705 metres, surrounded by oak and hornbeam woods and 25 hectares of chestnut trees, a total of 80 hectares cultivated organically, through which guests can stroll along three signposted routes.
Renovated in 2003, the agriturismo offers typical Tuscan cuisine, enriched by the flavours of medicinal herbs, many of which are grown on the farm itself.
The 5 rooms have terracotta paved floors and beams made from “pietra serena”, a grey Tuscan sandstone. As well as spectacular views to enjoy, on the floor below the rooms there are two workshops for decorating ceramics and wicker basket making, one of the farm’s traditions.
The ceramic products principally reproduce Cafaggiolodecorations: the ancient ceramics of the Medici family at Barberino di Mugello during the Renaissance.
Guests can even try their hand at shaping clay, then decorate their creations to express their own artistic sensitivity. Circuits such as Mugello in bike can be explored by bike or on foot, and mountain bikes are available for hire. Along the pathways you can observe the rare Ululoni, the yellow-bellied toad, newts and the beautiful flowers of the native flora.
4 km in the town there are tennis courts and a swimming pool.
Bathing is also possible in the Senio river, in stunning water holes with waterfalls.
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.
