The agriturismo

In the municipality of Rufina, on the route to the Apennine passes which mark the border between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, the agriturismo is surrounded by woodland and olive groves and offers a relaxed family welcome.

The organic farm has belonged to the same family for five generations, and mainly produces olive oil.

Guests can enjoy delicious typical Tuscan dishes, prepared using the farm’s own and other local Sieve Valley produce.

The accommodation

The farm offers three rooms and one apartment, furnished in a typical Tuscan rural style.

During the winter months, guests can enjoy the agriturismo's selection of board games and books on the Sieve Valley, Florence and Tuscany in the communal lounge in front of the thermo-fireplace: there is also a special BookCrossing area, where guests can leave their own books for others to read and comment on before the books continue on their travels.

Activities and surrounding

A favourite destination for cyclists, the agriturismo is located along CAI pathways (Italian Alpine Club), perfect for exploring on foot or by bike. The local area offers riding centres, bicycle hire, beautiful hamlets such as Pelago, Londa and Scarperia, and big brand shopping outlets.

The farm is ideally located for visiting Florence, Mugello, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo and other Tuscan cities. Rufina is home to a Museum of Vines and Wine, located inside the Poggio Reale Medici villa along with the wine cellars: the museum is a kind of open workshop, with tools and equipment, photographs, videos and original documents.
