The agriturismo
In Valdisieve, between the Mugello and the Casentino, this small 4.5 hectare organic farm produces wine, oil and saffron. Just 30 km from Florence, this is an oasis nestled among greenery, with fields on a hillside surrounded by woodland, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The family-run restaurant serves cuisine prepared using carefully selected zero mile ingredients.
The accommodation
3 suites with independent entrances, traditionally renovated and furnished with pieces by local craftsmen, comprising bathrooms with showers, free minibars (with the exception of Lo Sguardo) and kettles. In more detail: Lo Sguardo is suitable for disabled guests, and offers a four poster bed, an exposed flame majolica stove, a lounge with minibar and two bathrooms; I Girasoli, with local sunflower patterned pottery which gives the suite its name, offers a sofa bed and dining area; Il Fienile comprises a hall and living area, a sleeping area with double bed and a sofa bed.
There is also plenty of outdoor space for guests to relax, along with a dining room, a small library and board games.
Activities and surrounding
Guests can enjoy the wholesome rural life, walking through woodland (300 m) and rediscovering the pleasure of picking fruit from the tree, eating freshly picked tomatoes in the garden and enjoying dinners prepared on the barbecue.
As well as providing binoculars for birdwatching, the agriturismo offers guided trekking, lists of excursions along CAI (Club alpino italiano, Italian Alpine Club) pathways and bicycles for hire.There is a riding centre nearby, and you’ll find public swimming pools in Vicchio and Pontassieve. Florence is less than 30 km away (20 minutes by train from Pontassieve).

08/18/2016We spent a wonderful week in rent required by Donatella. We enjoyed the friendliness and hospitality of the whole family, Donatella, his son and his 2 "fiance". Dogs have also adopted us after some time. The rental is not easy to find, but the location is fantastic. Superb views with sunsets, quiet and charm of the countryside. 07/10/2016Donatella and her two sons Maximiliano and Nico did everything to make us to feel at home. They are very polite and a helpful family. Donatella is an active woman always doing something, very hardworking as their sons; you can also buy one of their excellents organics products: zafran, lavanda, wine, oil. Regarding the kitchen : the food was excellent, excellent quality products used every day and a varied menu. The room was large, super-clean and comfortable. The location of the house is great, on top of a hill, so the view is magnificent, here we find peace and a relaxing atmosphere ; and what to say about Lucy and Chuky their two dogs, they are just adorable !! We truly recommend this place to stay , you will certainly love. This place and this family are fantastic!
