The agriturismo
Tenuta Cantagallo, belonging to our family since 1970, extends for 500 a. in the heart of Montalbano, green hilly area between Florence and Pisa, and it's still a family run farm; in fact all the members of the family live and work here and are happy to give the opportunity to special guests to experience the country life in its recently restored farmhouse dating back to the beginning of the 20th century.
The farmhouse lies in a panoramic location on the top of a hill, hence the name ?Tenuta Cantagallo?, the place where the rooster sees the dawn and sings to the new day.
From the yard in front of the farmhouse you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding lush woods interrupted by olive yards and rows of vines recalling paintings of Renaissance.

Farmhouse in Tuscany with Osteria: Tenuta Cantagallo
In the heart of Montalbano and near Florence.
Tenuta Cantagallo, composed of the homonymous Agriturismo and Osteria, is located in Tuscany at Capraia e Limite, near Florence.
It covers 200 hectares in the heart of Montalbano, a hilly area planted with vineyards and olive groves. The farm is a family business and owes its name to its elevated position on a hill. It was from the top of the hill that the rooster saw the sun rise and gave the alarm to everyone.
The Farmhouse offers apartments for holidays in Tuscany and is characterized by a panoramic park with views of the Tuscan hills, swimming pool, children's playground and soccer field and tennis, cooking classes, guided tours with tasting, coffee classes and pottery courses.
The Osteria offers typical Tuscan dishes, interpreted by the Chef's inspiration, prepared with genuine ingredients and accompanied by wine, oil and other products of the Tenuta Cantagallo. In summer and winter it is the ideal restaurant for ceremonies, events, baptisms, communions..
Activities and surrounding
Tenuta Cantagallo organize, on request, meeting, private lunch/dinner, parties in an ancient hayloft restored respecting the original rural style and offers hospitality in our suggestive farmhouse.
The ancient hayloft is furnished with Adsl WiFI, mobile leafs blackboard, overhead projector, sliding projector, wireless microphone, photocopying machine, DVD player, Fax, TV, video recorder.
During our coffee break, prepared with our food specialties, you can spend a relaxing moment enjoying a breathtaking landscape over vineyards and olive-yards.
In our family run farm we produce, by reviving classical recipes, a choice of typical handmade food products (sauces, jam, vegetable under oil) without added preservatives or food colourings.
The guarantee of an elevated gastronomical quality in our homemade food specialties is expressed in our selection of vegetables, cultivated directly in our farmhouse, and in using exclusively our extra-virgin olive oil.
We made a choice to use the pasteurization as preserving method in order to maintain unaltered the organoleptic qualities of our food specialties in the following two years after the production.
In our Estate Tenuta Cantagallo and in our Estate Tenuta Le Farnete, we organize, on request, for our farmhouse guests and for individuals or bus-tour groups, tours of the cellars and the vineyards with explanation of the cultivation methods, followed by a guided tasting.
In our farmhouse you can taste two different DOCG wines, extra-virgin olive oil, the food specialties of the farmhouse and a choice of typical Tuscan cured meat and cheese.

In our farms we produce, joining tradition and innovation, high level quality DOCG (Chianti Montalbano, Carmignano), some valuable IGT wine ( Gioveto), vinsanto DOC ( Millarium Reserve), extra-virgin olive oil ( Laudemio and Le Farnete).

Hi, my name is Dario Pierazzuoli and I am 41 years old.
I have been managing Tenuta Cantagallo since 1970 with my family.
As well as we welcome the guests, we are responsible for communication, we take care of the crops.
It was a desire to to keep the family business alive which led me to run an agriturismo.
Our guests especially appreciate the warm family welcome.
