Within minutes you can reach the beach of Marina di Alberese, a national spectacle for its wild and unspoiled nature, dominated by the hills of the Park. The farmhouse, because of its location, makes it possible to reach the most sought-after destinations in the Maremma such as Pitigliano, Sorano,Saturnia, Castiglione della Pescaia and Monte Argenatario.

The accommodation

The Monte Cengio farmhouse was founded in 1931 as a company of the Opera Nazionale Combattenti and it was only in the 2000s that it became an accommodation facility, after two generations of workers whose sacrifices made possible what we can admire today.

 

Monte Cengio's guests have access to the manor garden where they can relax reading a good book under the majestic plants or let their children play.

 

The property has three double rooms made by a careful and meticulous renovation of the part of the rural house that was originally dedicated to animal shelter. The Tuscan style with wood-beamed ceilings and terracotta tiles typical of our area have been respected. Each room is equipped with private bathroom and all essential amenities such as linens and towels, pillows of various heights,hair dryer, free wi-fi throughout, air conditioning, heating, ceiling paddles, mini-bar, electric kettle with herbal teas available.

The farm consists of 10 hectares of land in organic conversion that give the surrounding landscape the characteristic look of the Maremma, composed of unspoiled nature that is home to native animals and a splendid olive grove.

 

In the surroundings of Agriturismo Monte Cengio, it is possible to take walks surrounded by nature or follow the trails within the Uccellina Park with bicycles to be rented on site or on horseback, accompanying the Butteri in their daily work with the cattle.

 

There are also lesson services for horseback riding nearby. One can take canoe trips on the Ombrone River or use the bike path to reach the sea at Marina di Alberese in half an hour while admiring the surrounding animals and nature.
