The accommodation
Our structure is located in the south of the Tuscan Maremma, a stone's throw from the sea and from the center of Capalbio, in a landscape and historical-artistic context of great importance. The area around the Agriturismo San Mauro is in fact of great value for the biodiversity that distinguishes it and for the many possibilities for excursions and visits to places of cultural interest in the area. In addition to the fascinating natural scenery of the numerous lakes located in the immediate vicinity, such as Lake Burano, with brackish waters, connected to the sea artificially and nature reserve and WWF oasis, or the Lake of San Floriano, or the Lake Acquato or the Biotope dei Lagaccioni, from our hotel you can quickly reach the many beaches in the area, characterized by dunes and an intact Mediterranean scrub. The most recent beach is over 8 kilometers long and extends between the mouth of Chiarone and Macchiatonda and acts as a barrier to Lake Burano, a wildlife reserve of the WWF. From here you can easily visit the coasts of the Argentario and enjoy the quiet of the lagoon while admiring the ancient Spanish fortifications present on the territory and the great migrations that rout here. You can also visit Capalbio, the extreme point of southern Tuscany, a small village also called "the little Athens" for the relief taken during the Renaissance period. Its historic center is graceful with the beautiful Porta Senese, the Parish Church of San Nicola and the Aldobrandesca Tower. If you are passionate about music, at Palazzo Collacchioni you can admire the Conrad Graf Fortepiano played by Puccini. Pride of the fresco Madonna della Provvidenza, attributed to Perugino and Pinturicchio. In the village of Pescia Fiorentina the Tarot Garden offers you a curious excursion among the statues inspired by the arcane tarots by the Franco-American sculptor Niki de Saint Phalle. From the hills overlooking the sea, surrounded by nature and tranquility, the Agriturismo San Mauro guarantees a stay full of cultural opportunities and at the same time relaxing and pleasant.
