Via San Martino, Pian di Rocca 58043 Castiglione della Pescaia (Grosseto)
1.5 km from the sea, on the hills of myrtle, cork oak and pine trees of Castiglione della Pescaia, a farmhouse accessible by way of a dirt track that winds through 1 km of olive and eucalyptus trees.
The farm covers 265 hectares as far as the crest of the hills, from which you can view Castello delle Rocchette, Punta Ala, the Tuscan archipelago and in the best days also the Corsica.
Guests are offered four apartments with adjacent garden and communal barbecue area. All bedrooms have king-size beds (180x200 cm).
The farm is situated far from the hustle and bustle, set in the colours and sounds of the Maremma countryside. The estate boasts 17 km of dirt tracks which wind through the wild headland of Punta Ala.
Most of the farm is made up of Mediterranean scrub, with myrtle and broom, holm oak, ash and strawberry trees as well as magnificent cork oaks. There is also a large pinewood and an olive grove with about 7,000 trees which produce a multi-award winning extra-virgin olive oil: PGI Valdelmelo Toscano.
In the evening and early morning it is not unusual to spot wild boar, roe deer, porcupines, hare, foxes and hawks.
The surrounding park is perfect for strolls, Nordic walking, trail running, mountain biking and pony trekking (there are also Amiatini donkeys for children) as far the most enchanting parts of the Punta Ala headland.
The sea at Punta Ala and Castiglione della Pescaia is 15 and 5 mins away respectively by car; kite surfing, windsurfing and scuba diving (at the beach of Fiumara for example) can be practiced at just 20 minutes away.
The surrounding areas offer Tirli, in the chestnut woods, Vetulonia with its Etruscan necropolis and museum; Castiglione della Pescaia with its medieval town centre, the Hermitage of Malavalle, Massa Marittima and the wetlands of Diaccia Botrona, ideal for bird watching. A little further afield are Populonia and the Gulf of Baratti to the north, Uccellina Park to the south and the hinterland of Grosseto, from Mount Amiata to Sovana, Sorano, Pitigliano and Capalbio. Ferries depart for the islands of Giglio, Giannutri, Elba etc.
Please to meet you, my name is Luca and I am 33 years old.
I have been managing Tenuta Valdelmelo since 2019 along with my parents.
As well as we welcome the guests, we are responsible for communication, we take care of the crops.
It was a desire to to meet new and interesting people all the time which led me to run an agriturismo.
Our guests' favourite thing about Tenuta Valdelmelo is the warm family welcome.
