The agriturismo

The agriturismo is nestled in a scenic, harmonious spot at the heart of the Pisan region, in the hills closest to the coast, 35 km from Pisa and the sea.

It is part of a farm producing fruit and vegetables, and guests are invited to sample the delicious produce: strawberries, tomatoes, jams, preserves, conserves, olive oil, tarts and bread.

 

In the large garden guests can soak up the sun and relax, while the woodland is the perfect place for strolling, cycling and exploring by moped.

The accommodation

The agriturismo offers guest accommodation in 2 apartments:

Leonardo: featuring Tuscan furniture, stone mirrors and exposed brick walls in the bedroom and lounge, the apartment looks on to the large garden with its beautiful views, the ideal place to relax, soak up the sun or enjoy breakfast. The apartment has two bedrooms (one double with a double and a single bed, one with two wrought iron single beds), a lounge with a glass door opening on to the garden, a veranda for enjoying dinner or eating breakfast and an exposed brick kitchen built inside an old bakery.

Nido di Rondine: an intimate, well maintained setting perfect for young couples (or those with young children).

 

The agriturismo also includes a restaurant (booking required) serving dishes prepared mainly using the farm's own produce (homemade desserts, breads made using sour dough and ancient flours).

Activities and surrounding

There is a riding centre 5 minutes from the farm. 7 minutes takes you to Crespina, an ancient town which was once home to artists such as Fattori and Silvestro Lega (Anchise Picchi was actually born in the agriturismo’s house).  The church of San Michele Arcangelo is certainly worth a visit, and Lari, Casciana Terme (spa centre 30 minutes away) and Volterra (1 hour) should all be explored. The sea is just half an hour away.
