The agriturismo
The Agriturismo Il Cocco, near Montalcino in Tuscany: it owes its name to the leader Ser Cocco Salimbeni, who in 1400 lived in the fortress of Castiglione d'Orcia and with his militias controlled the Via Francigena.
At Podere Il Cocco we have developed the agriturismo, offering hospitality in rooms with private bathrooms located on the first floor of the old farmhouse, the cellar where the wine is produced (organic Brunello di Montalcino, organic Rosso di Montalcino, organic Igt Toscana Rosso and an organic rosé wine produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes) and the vineyards where organic techniques are put into practice.
The accommodation
The farmhouse Il Cocco, is divided into two large apartments a few miles from Montalcino, where you can stay either by booking the whole apartment, or in a single room.
All rooms have a private bathroom and an own entrance.
Both apartments are located on the first floor of the old Tuscan farmhouse on the Poggio Cocco, dominating the Val d'Orcia, the Valle d'ombrone and right in front of Mount Amiata.
The Cocco Grande apartment has 3 bedrooms that are rented individually, while the Cocco Piccolo is rented in full.
