The agriturismo

One of the first agriturismos in San Gimignano (2 km from the centre), Il Monchino stands on a hill with beautiful views stretching right to the Apuan Alps and Castellina in Chianti. The property is surrounded by vines and olive trees, used to produce Chianti dei Colli Senesi DOCG, Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG and extra virgin olive oil.  

The accommodation

Relax in a country house with roots back in medieval 1200, from over 50 years we enjoy working in our family run farmhouse, trying to make our guests feel just like home.
Peaceful and tranquil, totally immersed in the Tuscan countryside, the perfect place to relax.
All rooms have private bathroom, mini fridge and wifi.
Private swimming pool, great place to have soothing walks, or you can rent bikes directly from us and enjoy a ride through the hills. 
Possibility to have breakfast.

 

Activities and surrounding

San Gimignano is accessible on foot, along a white gravel road with stunning views of the turreted city. Siena is 35 km away, Florence 55 km, Volterra 30 km, Pisa 60 km and Lucca 70 km. South of Siena you can visit Pienza, or Bagno Vignoni with its hot springs, and explore the stunning Crete Senesi. Just a short distance takes you to Monteriggioni, Certaldo and Colle Val d'Elsa too.

You can stroll along beautiful pathways and walk the Via Francigena, or why not take a bicycle ride? Standard and pedal-assisted bikes are available for hire near us, with guided tours on offer to discover unexplored, magical roads and places. Bicycle storage and a specialist mechanic are available.

Nearby you’ll find a riding centre, tennis courts and a golf course (15 km).
