The agriturismo

The farmhouse is located just outside of Montepulciano, surrounded by 13 acres of land cultivated with olive groves and vineyards. A 5 minutes drive up a paved road takes you into Montepulciano, a jewel of the Renaissance which encloses all the elements which made Tuscany so well-known all over the world: art, nature, good wine, extra-virgin olive oil and cheese.

The accommodation

The agriturismo is an ancient stone farmhouse built in the Tuscan tradition. It has been beautifully restored and converted into four lovely apartments, all modernized to enhance its beauty and utility and named after the most common varieties of olive trees: Moraiolo, Leccino, Pendolino, Frantoio.

The inside of the house is as beautiful as the outside, filled with Tuscan antiques and comfortable furniture, terracotta flooring and wooden beams.
The grounds are spectacular and extensive and include a beautiful swimming pool (m 12x6, open from May to September) to be shared with the guests of the other units with fabulous views, large expanses of lawn and mature trees, and numerous terraces for sitting or dining al "fresco".

The Maccari family, the actual owners, have been living this area for more than 100 years and they work their land, producing an excellent Tuscan extra virgin olive oil and red wine which are also for sale.

Montepulciano is situated in the south area of the senese territory which includes the Val d'Orcia, Val di Chiana and Crete Senesi.

So people who spend the night in Montepulciano can reach in a few minutes the must important artistic towns and places such as: Siena, Firenze, Cortona, Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Orvieto and Trasimeno Lake, LIPU's oasis of Montepulciano lake and some Etruscan ancient tombs in Chiusi.
