The agriturismo
Podere La Paolina is a small agriturismo with a family-run gourmet restaurant. The Podere is located in the heart of Tuscany, overlooking the Val d'Orcia in the hills between Montepulciano and Pienza.
We offer three types of accommodations; two independent cottages and a Suite with anindependent entrance inside the historic home. The restaurant has 12 seats offering typical cuisine with 0 km products.
The farm consists of 10 hectares with productions of extra virgin olive oil, cereals, fruit, honey. The owners live on the farm and welcome guests personallyemnte.
The accommodation
Paolina's guests have the opportunity to stay in the Cottage, made out of an old sheepfold for small farm animals, is a romantic independent apartment consisting of a double bedroom with aqueen size that can be turned into two beds (on request), has a bathroom with shower, a lovely living room with corner fireplace, separate kitchen with the essentials for a longer stay. The Cottage has a large private terrace furnished with outdoor furniture. The apartment is surrounded by nature with panoramic views of the garden and countryside. A crib or single bed can be added in this accommodation.
The Barn, converted from an old barn, is a spacious apartment with a queen-size bed that can be converted into two single beds (on request). The living area includes a table and two armchairs to enjoy acozy atmosfra. The kitchenette is separate and is equipped with the necessities for an independent breakfast: dishes, sink, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and a small refrigerator. The bathroom is comfortable and has a shower and bidet. The terrace of the Fienile offers privacy panoramic views of the countryside and Monte Amiata. This apartment is surrounded by nature is perfect for two people who want a comfortable space to relax in the countryside.
Il Colombaio is a suite very characteristic for its typical Tuscan architecture carved out of the 15th-century manor house, once used to store the season's harvest. It has an independent entrance and is developed on two levels. On the upper floor, reached by a wooden staircase, there is a spacious double bedroom with a panoramic view of the Val d'Orcia and Monte Amiata. This room has a four-poster double bed and two armchairs. On the ground floor, beyond the separate entrance, there is a living room made out of the old wagon shed, the kitchenette equipped with the necessities for an independent breakfast: dishes, sink, microwave oven, kettle, coffee maker and a small refrigerator. This living room has a charming loft, reached by a ladder, equipped with a bed for an adult. The suite's bathroom is comfortable and has a spacious shower and bidet. The Colombaio's terrace offers privacy and a lovely view of the garden and countryside.
The Ristorante della Paolina is located on the farm, James the host is the chef, has gained professional experience working in starred restaurants, and offers typical Tuscan dishes, sheep's milk cheeses, cured meats and and local wines, which he sources directly. Extra virgin olive oil, preserves, some vegetables and house wine are produced directly from Podere La Paolina. Parking is free and ample.
The Podere is isolated, immersed in the quiet of the countryside. Some mornings you might be awakened by the crowing of roosters from neighboring farms. La Paolina is included in a wildlife reserve and repopulation area. Wild boars, deer, porcupines, hares, badgers and various species of game live in the terriotory of La Paolina.
Activities and surrounding
The Podere is located 700 meters from the medieval village of Montefollonico and the Il Tondo Natural Park, which can be reached by car, or on foot through paths through the woods that separate the podere from the ancient village. Here you can find a bar frequented by locals, a delicatessen, a pharmacy, a restaurant, and two churches that hold valuable works of art.
The Podere is suitable for a vacation of absolute relaxation immersed in nature, in the silence among intense and particular scents. La Paolina is halfway between Montepulciano and Pienza, Renaissance towns that have preserved their beauty and charm intact.
La Paolina is especially suitable for those who aim for a food and wine vacation, and wellness, with spas, such as Bagno Vignoni and Bagno San Filippo, immersed in nature within easy reach. The place is very suitable for sports such as biking, running, and walking.

As well as we cook for the guests, we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops.
It was a desire to to pursue a passion which led me to run an agriturismo.
