The agriturismo

A small rural village of the 18th century, between Gubbio and Assisi, dedicated to the recovery of rural traditions, ancient crafts and flavours, old Umbrian recipes. It enjoys a strategic position to reach the sea, the hills, the lake, the cities of art, the mountains.

The agritourism, awarded with "4 girasoli", was born inside an organic farm of 21 hectares that offers its own production of extra virgin olive oil, cereals, jams, vegetables and seasonal fruit.

Myriam, the owner, is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and, among many activities, organizes pottery courses also with the technique of Bucchero Etrusco.

An experiential holiday, in body and soul, immersed in the green heart of Italy: this is what Caresto offers: simplicity, beauty, quality ... magic!

The accommodation

Lying on top of a hill, the village has a long history: the old farmhouse dates back to 1768, the restoration has followed the rules of bio-architecture and the roof is ventilated. The cottage with the typical Umbrian staircase houses 4 rooms, each with private bathroom and personalized in the color from which it takes its name. A French-Italian library is also available.

In a separate cottage from the accommodation, guests are served a tasty organic breakfast of fresh bread and homemade jams.

Guests can also enjoy the restaurant: the restaurant is not open to the public and can serve a maximum of 10 people, which guarantees a truly unique and intimate experience. The products offered are all organic and zero km, you can personally choose the vegetables picking them from the garden and also prepare light meals for a picnic outing.

In the afternoon, a tasty aperitif is also served!

Activities and surrounding

The farm offers a holiday of culture and relaxation: walks in the fields can alternate with excursions in the surrounding area, educational trails on the farm, workshops organized by the staff. There is also the possibility to participate in the olive harvest!

Myriam, the owner, is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and is an operator of educational farm: with her you can follow courses on recycling of old furniture, objects and clothes, creation of small furniture with old wood and transformation of objects with techniques of découpage, shabby chic, etc.. In addition, we organize workshops on silk/cotton painting, ecoprint, ceramics, bucchero, sculpture, ancient crafts (baskets, papier-mâché, felt...), homemade soap with our olive oil, cooking classes (Italian, Umbrian) and French language ... Nearby, you can do hang gliding, cave excursions, horseback riding, secret pond.

For sports lovers, there is no lack of places for trekking, ping pong, bowls, etc. ... The municipal swimming pool is only 15 min by car!

 

The farmhouse is also an excellent base for visiting Umbria, Marche, Conero, but also Rome and Florence.

At 20 min by car, it is located in a small lake with little known waterfall, but really worth seeing.
