The agriturismo
The farmhouse is situated on a hill, surrounded by ancient woods and a few km from Gubbio. The name derives from the name present in the historical maps and means, in the Gubbio dialect, that little piece at the back there, because the place is definitely off the beaten track and is ideal not only for eating or sleeping, but to pull the plug on the uncontaminated nature. The farm is certified and managed according to organic farming methods: it covers 16 hectares, part of which is wooded and part is dedicated to cultivation and breeding.
The accommodation
There are only six rooms in Guinzano, and for this reason they are full of every attention and care. Each one is equipped with independent service and furnished in an original way with unique pieces, all owned by the family for generations and personalized in color. All rooms are also equipped with heating, bed linen and towels, hair dryer. Cots and cribs for children are available free of charge. Service notes: check-in from 4pm to 10pm, check-out before 10am. Tourist tax: 1,60 euro per person per day over 12 years old. The farmhouse is also a restaurant. Here food is not only seen as a way of eating, but it represents culture and history of the territory, rediscovery of flavours and a moment of conviviality; for this reason great care is taken in the search for products outside the large-scale distribution and organic or traditional production. In addition to traditional preparations, vegetarian and vegan dishes are available.
Activities and surrounding
We organize cooking classes and activities for small groups, dedicated to traditional Umbrian dishes, bread, pasta, soups, meat and game ... There are also courses for small chefs (from 3 to 7 years with the accompaniment of a parent, as well as alone). In the surroundings of the farmhouse you can go for walks, go horseback riding or cycling, go on excursions in the nearby cities of art, visit parks and museums, go shopping, practice a sport or simply enjoy the quiet of the surrounding nature, maybe with a good book.
