The farmhouse "La Cuccagna", halfway between Gubbio (25 min) and Perugia (30 min), not far from Assisi (30 min) is located on top of a hill with a wonderful view over the valley.

It is a special and unique place to stay in Umbria. It gives an authentic experience of warm and intimate hospitality. In fact, it is a B&B with personality and heart, where guests feel at home and enjoy much more than a luxury accommodation. The perfect place to relax, where it seems to live in the past with the knowledge of living in the present, which guarantees peace and tranquility.

To frame all this, in addition to the scenery of the fantastic valleys of Umbria you can enjoy an infinity pool, a saunaand a lounge for relaxation.

Classic Farmhouse B&B Room

We have three classic rooms.  All are en-suite, and either double or twin rooms.  Two of the rooms can accommodate a third bed for a child.

Deluxe B&B Suite

Our deluxe suite is an en-suite classic farmhouse B&B room with an extra room with kitchenette, seating area with comfortable sofabed and private patio.

La Cisterna

La Cisterna is an independent, two storey contemporary B&B suite. It boasts a luxury, feature bathroom, bedroom, living room with kitchenette and private patio and air conditioning.  An ideal bolthole for a couple or a family with 1 or 2 children on the comfortable sofabed in the living area.

La Stalletta

The Old Cowshed has been comfortably restored as a self-catering cottage and offers an open plan kitchen/ living area, double bedroom, bathroom and air conditioning. It also offers a spacious terrace with Pergola and BBQ, ideal for that alfresco dining experience. Sleeps 2 (+ 1 child).

Infinity Pool and Sauna - Relax and unwind with unrivalled, captivating views that stretch into neighbouring Tuscany.  Our horizon swimming pool is long enough for your morning exercise or for just cooling off, chilling and enjoying the breathtaking views. The infinity edge drops off into the beauty of the Umbrian Hills, so you can imagine the feeling of being part of this majestic country.

Open Air Gym - Our new outdoor wellness area boasts exercise equipment with the finest views in Umbria, with shade, so you can enjoy your work out even in the hottest months.

Dining - La Spasetta

Enjoy breath-taking valley views through floor-to-ceiling windows in La Spasetta, our dining room. 

Breakfast - Breakfast is included in the price of all our accommodation except La Stalletta. Guests in La Stalletta can also enjoy breakfast in the dining room for a small extra charge. We serve a delicious continental breakfast which includes homemade and locally produced organic food which will set you up for the day’s activities.

Lunch and Dinner - we occasionally offer light lunches and catered evenings.  Authentic Italian home cooking is served using traditional, seasonal recipes and may include a ‘Pizza Night’. When catering we use home grown produce whenever possible (we grow herbs, fruit and vegetables and we make all our own passata, wine, limoncello, olive oil, chestnut products and plenty more) and as a registered organic farm all our produce is free range and organic.

Dining Out - For those evenings that you dine out, we are lucky to have some excellent restaurants within easy distance of La Cuccagna, without the need to go into town, which offer a variety of local cuisine and authentic or unique ‘dining experiences’. They’re our little secrets and we will let you know about them when you arrive.

Honesty Bar - For light refreshment we have an honesty bar where you can help yourselves to snacks and a selection of homemade and local biodynamic wines and artisan beers as well as other alcoholic beverages and soft drinks.

Gardens and Grounds - La Cuccagna is set in more than 12 acres of rural Italian countryside abundant in seasonal delights such as wild asparagus, fennel and truffles. Around the pool area and garden you will find majestic old olive trees, vines, fruit trees and fresh herbs. Explore our grounds or just sit, relax and enjoy the view from one of the many areas we have created for your comfort. Imagine yourself with a good book or a glass of Italian red in hand.
