The agriturismo
Agriturismo La Panoramica in Gubbio started its life as a 1700s farmhouse. In the second half of the last century the property was transformed into a comfortable and charming country residence for an important local family, followed by the recent conversion of the small estate into a farm, and the start of a careful renovation process to create an agriturismo of great charm and wonderful ambience.
At La Panoramica, it is as if you have travelled back in time, escaping the chaos of contemporary everyday life to immerse yourself in grounds full of large colourful flower-covered trees and rose bushes scattered around the garden, a world of colours, scents and the sounds of nature but with outstanding facilities and modern technology.
The accommodation
The stone and brick cottage is a charming little home, perfect for a couple or a family of four. The property comprises a lounge with open fireplace divided into a dining area and a sitting area (with a comfortable double sofa bed), a double bedroom, a bathroom with large shower and a fully equipped kitchen. The cottage has been recently renovated, and the facilities (heating, hot water, etc.) are new and modern. The furniture is fitting for a country home, and offers optimum comfort.
Outside, you'll find private space exclusively for your own use, with spectacular views of Gubbio, as well as loungers, umbrellas, tables and chairs for romantic garden dinners lit by candles and lanterns...
The rest of the communal gardens offer various spaces: a swimming pool and solarium, a gazebo with lounge area, a double Mexican hammock, a barbecue zone and bocce.
Activities and surrounding
At La Panoramica Gubbio it's nice to just be there, spend a day by the pool, read a book in the shade of the gazebo, take a nap on the hammock or a stroll through the surrounding countryside admiring picture-perfect landscape.
But what makes Gubbio special is that it is right at the very heart of Italy! Within 30 minutes - 2 hours, you can reach absolutely everything that's worth visiting in this part of Italy! Cities of art, history and culture such as Assisi, Perugia, Urbino, Spoleto, Todi, Arezzo and Southern Tuscany are around an hour away, Fano and the sea just 80 km away, and a little further on, the stunning Conero Riviera with its picturesque hamlets full of charm, beautiful beaches and the unspoilt nature of Monte Conero.
Just a short distance takes you to the beautiful Sibillini Mountains and the Castelluccio di Norcia plain with its fairytale flowers. And not forgetting Lake Trasimeno, Central Italy's largest lake, with its wonderful beaches and boat trips to pretty islands, or the Frasassi Caves, thought to be the biggest in Europe.
For those looking to explore the surrounding area and try its various sports, there's the Monte Cucco Regional Park with its incredible cave (tours available subject to booking), and excursions bookable in advance.
Here you can try activities such as hiking, fishing, mountain biking, canyoning, horse riding, trekking, Nordic walking, horseback excursions and even cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
