The agriturismo
Surrounded by green hilly countryside, between the beautiful hamlet of Castel Rigone and Lake Trasimeno, a pretty little agriturismo near Umbria and Tuscany's most famous cities of art, from Assisi to Siena, Gubbio, Rome, Florence and more.
The old manor house has been converted to offer a range of tastefully furnished suites, apartments, maisonettes and rooms. The garden is home to age old trees, and the large, sunny swimming pool enjoys breathtaking views. The agriturismo serves wholesome cuisine, prepared using ingredients from the farm itself (oil, vegetables, poultry and cured meats) and other local producers (cheese, meat...); specialities include borage risotto, "torta al testo", Nocino braised meat, Valnerina tagliatelle (with trout, lentils and truffle).
The accommodation
All rooms, suites and maisonettes are tastefully and comfortably furnished. Fiorile is an apartment with independent entrance, lounge with open fire, small kitchenette, 2 bedrooms and one bathroom; Glicine, Caprifoglio, Granaio and Fienile are 4 rooms with private bathrooms and independent entrances, overlooking the small orchard or terrace with loungers and tables.
The Suite del Cavaliere, extremely spacious, with a lounge area, open fire and sofas, features a bedroom with a bed carved from the finest materials, a bathroom with whirlpool shower and exposed beams to the ceiling. The Suite Villa offers a lounge area with open fire, kitchen-diner, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with bath and a 120 square metre terrace with stunning views. Finally, the "ostello" guesthouse features guest rooms with antique furniture, and one bathroom per two bedrooms.
A large, light and airy 125 square metre lounge, built inside the former wine cellar, with vaulted ceilings and parquet flooring, reflects the owners' love of reading, cinema and music. You'll find a piano, a small film library, and a stereo. This wonderful space, which was created in the 1990s for groups to practice meditation, dancing, singing, yoga and biodanza, is now used for seminars and workshops.
