Strada delle Zamponare 18, Porchiano del Monte 05022 Amelia (Terni)
Old farm set in the Umbrian countryside amidst olive groves, pastures, orchards and age-old oak woods at an altitude of 400 m a.s.l. It is named after the original owners, the Ràcani Counts, a noble Umbrian family whose coat-of-arms features two green lizards (ràcani in local dialect).
Farming activities include the cultivation of fruit trees, olive trees, to produce a high quality oil, and raising sheep and farmyard animals.
The painstaking renovation of the animal sheds and granary has created three separate apartments. Cipressi and Stalla have a patio, outdoor veranda with table and chairs, sitting room with fireplace, kitchenette, dining table, sofa, bathroom with shower, a double bedroom and a third bed on the mezzanine floor or two double bedrooms.
Granaio offers a sitting room with fireplace, kitchenette, dining table, sofa and armchair, mezzanine floor with two beds and baluster overlooking the sitting room, two double bedrooms, bathroom with shower and garden with tables and chairs.
The swimming pool and table tennis offer guests relaxation and entertainment. The agriturismo has bicycles available and Ayurvedic massage subject to booking.
The farm produces an extremely high-quality cold-pressed olive oil, prune, cherry, apricot, quince and black mulberry jams and fresh eggs; the vegetable garden is always full of seasonal produce.
Some of the finest towns and cities in Umbria, such as Orvieto, Narni, Todi, Spoleto and Spello are one hour’s drive away, while there is a riding stables with instructor for adults and children just 5 km from the agriturismo.
The Parco Culturale (cultural park) is the estate owners’ ambitious dream. An open air exhibition along the trails through the wood; a place for art, new languages, where visitors can tune in to the beauty of Umbrian nature and where art is protected and promoted.
The project involves sculptors, creators of natural ideas and people available to create their artworks on the estate to make a Sentiero dell’Equilibrio (equilibrium pathway). An opportunity for many young unknown artists to gain exposure by exhibiting in this natural setting and for major established artists to make a contribution and leave their mark.
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.
Owners will be held responsible for damage to property and persons.
